I definitely agree with the exaggeration on VFX, in general I'm not a fan because most of the people take the picture with the intention of using VFX but the priority should be the photo itself then use a bit of VFX. I would add takin photos from a high angle (the camera in a high point looking down) in toy photography looks bad because it doesn't hide that the subject is a toy, this is something every one does when they are starting with toy photography

Yes!!!! That’s a super good point about the VFX. And also with the high point. I’m pretty sure I’ve said that in another video but that would have been good to include. I’m working on a beginner video so will include that for sure.

Exposing for the highlights is the best one! You could always brighten up in post with raw but cant take away light

For sure! Especially with some of the plastic, it can get way brighter than you think.

Also a variable ND filter helps with lighting

This was really helpful! I recently started bouncing the light back with a white piece of cardboard because of your tip and its made my photos way better. Now I'm still working on the saturation thing lol Trying to dial down some of the effects and changes that I throw in last minute during the photo editing because I doubt myself sometimes. Awesome tutorial!

I agree with everything you said in this video. I try to not edit too much the colors, because I'm colorblind. The picture can become really weird really quick if I play with settings a little too much...
