This time we will talk about the ball hit and its angles. We will see two important recommendations for aiming and ball hit.
We will also review four ball hits and the incidence and reflection angles produced by each one of them.
Let's start by showing how to aim and hit the ball
What can I do more precisely?
Draw a vertical line that passes through the center of the red circle shown in the image or draw a vertical line that passes through the right edge of the red circle.
From the answer to this question comes my first recommendation:
Use the edges of the object ball (ball 2), whenever possible, as a target reference, in the image the right edge of the red ball is aligned with the center of the tip
second recommendation:
Use the tip whenever possible, as a target reference, in the image the center of the tip is aligned with the right edge of the red ball, to make a half ball hit
Let's see four very important ball hits below.
Remember that the ball has a diameter of 61.5 millimeters. And the tip has a diameter of 12 millimeters, the above to use as a reference how far the tip is from the edge of the object ball.
To make a half ball hit using zero spin, we align the right edge of the object ball with the center of the tip.
To make a quarter ball hit using zero spin, align the right edge of the object ball with the first quarter of the cue ball, the center of the tip should be approximately 15 millimeters from the right edge of the object ball.
To make an eighth of a ball hit using zero spin, align the right edge of the object ball with the first eighth of the cue ball, the center of the tip must be approximately 24 millimeters from the right edge of the object ball.
To make a sixteenth of a ball hit using zero spin, align the right edge of the object ball with the first sixteenth of the cue ball, the center of the tip must be approximately 27 millimeters from the right edge of the object ball.
With time and practice, you learn to identify the correct distance that the tip should be with respect to the target ball, to perform the different ball hits and using the different effects.
Next we will see four ball hits and the incidence and reflection angle produced by each one of them.
The half ball hit produces a reflection aperture of 4 diamonds in a reflection distance of four diamonds, as we play with zero effect, we deduce that the incidence aperture is also 4 diamonds.
Let us remember as we saw in the video the effect and its angles, that the reflection angle increases with the reflection distance, as in this example we play from long to long, the reflection distance is 4 diamonds.
The quarter ball hit produces a 3 diamond reflection aperture in a 4 diamond reflection distance, as we play with zero effect, we deduce that the incidence aperture is also 3 diamonds.
The eighth ball hit, produces a reflection aperture of 2 diamonds in a reflection distance of 4 diamonds, as we play with zero effect, we deduce that the incidence aperture is also 2 diamonds.
Taking a sixteenth of a ball hit produces a reflection aperture of 1 diamond in a reflection distance of 4 diamonds, as we play with zero effect, we deduce that the incidence angle is also 1 diamond.
