my sincere compliments... I am in Barcelona (for 30 years) several times a year, personally or as a tourist guide, and I know very well how to recognize the quality of such videos... you managed to present, in 30 minutes, to someone who is just thinking of visiting Barcelona for the first time, several important dimensions, and all without self-promotion, with accuracy and fun… (and excellent camera 😍)… posts like yours are a real rarity...

I love, love Barthelona. As a flight attendant with Lufthansa in the 70-80's my favorite overnite stop was Barcelona. We would hire cabs and drive to Sitges. A beautiful fishing town south and leave there slightly tipsy. The sites and all of Barcelona were just magical. Do you know why the Spaniard of Barcelona speak different than the rest of Spain? Their King had a lisp, and in order not to anger him, the town folk also spoke in a lisp. Bartholoma. LOL. Love your videos.

Nice video for future visitors! I've been living in and around Barcelona since 1984, so I'm verrry familiar with all the sights you chose to focus on (there are many more, of course). Tiny detail though - although it's technically correct that Barcelona is on the coast of the Balearic Sea, the expression is used mainly by meteorologists and oceanographers to set it apart from other areas of the Mediterranean Basin (like the Alboran Sea farther to the south, or the Ligurian and Tyrrheanian Seas off the western coast of Italy). The Balearic Sea (named that way because of the Balearic Islands, situated several hundred miles off Spain's eastern coast) is indeed part of the MEDITERRANEAN Sea and you'll find very few people describing Barcelona as being "a city on the Balearic Sea". Not that you're wrong, though... I prefaced this by saying that you're technically correct.

El almuerzo is not a second breakfast (I don't know who the hell told you that). 'Desayuno' is the first meal of the day, although the word is sometimes used for the second mid-morning meal (like for example you have a coffee and toast at 7 a.m. and then around 10 or 11 a.m., you have a small sandwich before lunch because you are hungry, that is also a desayuno). 'Almuerzo’ is a voice that refers to meals of different kinds and taken at different times in different areas of the Spanish language, but it's usually used as a synonym for lunch.
@EatSeeRV6 ай бұрын
Not in the region where I stay. I said this in front of my Spanish family and they all agreed with the statement. I have heard from friends who live in southern Spain, also native Spaniards that they do not use Almuerzo in that way. So I really think it depends on where you are!

@@Ilar-en7lg Hello a catalan person here. Here in Barcelona “Desayuno” (We call it esmorzar in catalan ) is the first meal (it depends on when you get up, I’ll do mine at 5 o’clock), “almuerzo” (in catalan we don’t make differences and call it esmorzar, usually at 9-12 h aprox., in my case I use to eat a sandwich with a latte) is a light meal between “el desayuno” and “la comida” (in catalan we call la comida “el dinar” and it’s at 13-15 h aprox.) but it will depend on the spanish region and you can find differences among the cities or towns you visit.

Just spent two weeks in Spain and went from Barcelona to Sevilla. #1 complain of mine is the Spanish attitude, shortness, and some nastiness. I had always heard about French attidude towards tourists, but I have to say Spaniards, for now, hold the #1 position. It got so bad I wanted to leave at the end of week one. We didn't and kept going, but it took its toll on our overall mood about this trip. (It was bad enough, I will put this opinion on any Spanish travel blog/video I see!)

Just starting the video there is already a serious error. Flamenco music has nothing to do with Barcelona, it is from the South of Spain. Putting flamenco in a video about Barcelona is like putting Scottish bagpipes in a video about London or country music in a video about New York.
@EatSeeRV7 ай бұрын
Haha I get it. You're not the first to say this. While we do realize flamenco music is from a specific region of Spain, for many it is representative of Spain as a whole. We also have a small selection of royalty free music to choose from here! And using other types of music in videos from different regions is OK. We would and have used country music when we were in the south as well as rap music when we weren't in LA or NYC.

Just came back from Barcelona and do not want to go back for more. Be aware that what you see, usually from vlogers, may not match the reality. Barcelona is crowded, loud, busy, dirty city. Stay away from most attractions and you will find areas that are much nicer, pleasant with green parks. The food quality and prices in all tourist areas are high with so so food. The prices and quality outside of the main fares are much better. The spanish food packs a lot of fat, carbs and cals. No salad to be found anywhere, same with fruit on most of the menus. Not a place I would ever want to come back.

@@helenorgarycrevonis2022 Me,too. I agree with everything you’ve said until I just came across this very calming and beautifully done video. I spent a very stressful week with my daughter looking for an apartment for her study abroad. We tried to still explore the city and enjoy everything it has to offer and make the best of our stay. I must say though after watching this video now I have to give it a second chance, since the next time I visit it won’t be tainted with the experience of trying to find a student apartment in one week because the one she had booked online from home was a total fail in terms of what the advertised. It was so overwhelming in such a big city! At last we found a beautiful accommodation for her and now I will forward this video to her.

For your info Barcelona is the trendiest city in Europa now, I don't agree with your comments.. maybe you forgot to visit all the masterpieces of Gaudí, the Miró snd Picasso museund as well as Macba, get lost in Gracia and Gothic Quarter...etc

Stop using the independent Flag of catalan separatists as if that was the official Catonia's Flag. Most of Catalan People are not separatists and won't feel represented by an invented Flag. Catalonia's Flag is just Red and Yellow Stripes. Remembering Aragon's kingdom. Please be careful with this sort of content and messages to your community. Visca Catalunya.
