In my opinion izana is the strongest character in tokyo revengers but at the time they nerfed him a lot just to give mikey prominence the writers made izana get carried away by his desire for revenge because he already had the tenjiku war against toman won from the start.

No, the general rule of an anime that involes any kind of fighting or violence is that the villain of the next arc will be superior than the previous arc physically or mentally if that was not the case there wouldn't be any tension For example: South possess superior strength, durability, stamina, and more experience than izana but yet izana fans disagree stating that izana is the strongest in the whole tokyo revenger anime because he is a pretty boy And also your point about vengence is wrong Izana was jealous cause mikey had everything he didn't have due to that he wanted to kill mikey But i can't disagree that if izana was alive and wanted to get stronger till the 3 great deity arc rolled around he would be equal to a dark impluse 100% mikey and one more thing even tenjiku ac he wasn't dwarfing mikey yes he had superior speed and reflexes which gave mikey trouble But mikey was slightly stronger than him [izana strength 9/10 mikey 10/10) and mikey also was more durable than izana he tanked izana's attack and didn't even bleed so, how he strongest bro i sometimes feel like that izana fans like izana is because of his appearance due to that whenever their is a debate who is stronger they say izana despite knowing south and dark impluse mikey is stronger and can defeat this glass canon On top of that izana have poor stamina which is a downfall of his cause if he can't take down an enemy before his stamina is depleted he is fucked if he is facing someone like south i would dare and say wakasa and benki can defeat izana with extreme diff.
