I've actually had a similar experience when I was in school. I was alone... The lights were dim. I stayed after school and it was around 7pm. In the library trying to finish my work on the computer. I've been in there for hours when finally I looked up at the front at the entrance, I saw a figure standing outside the door. For about 3 hours, I would look up briefly and still see the figure standing there. Eventually I got curious and went to the door. Nobody was there. I went back to my work and eventually got creeped out and left. I never stayed that late after school again.
