Very helpful. I've never used Cavaletti on my horse before. Didn't know much about it. This really opened my eyes. I will begin using them right away. Thx.

Good job on this lesson. I once watched a group of German horses following one another over a mirad of poles twisting and turning throughout the arena. This was all done to music which the horses loved.

I am a huge fan of pole work so I really enjoyed the video. It is great to hear you break down what the work does for the horse.

I always love all your videos and always learn something! I've been starting to work with straight line cavaletti exercise. I didn't know the spacing of the poles though, so I came here to your video to learn!

Love the exercises! We’ve been walking over random poles and walking/trotting straight poles. It has helped with stretching! He can stretch more so we will continue to have fun with these exercises!

The first book you mentioned I've been trying to buy 1 but it seems only the new edition that is already ready for pre-order is available The second one I had been trying to see if it was worth it. Thank you so much for the enlightment!

Thank you , this is very helpful I have been advised by my chiro to use these ~ he came out yesterday to help my mare as her Pelvis was out & she had some how chipped her hip bone! She didn’t appear lame but was very sore in her sacrum area , How I noticed , she was refusing to walk under saddle , tossing her head and swishing her tail( So not like her ) hopped off took saddle off and checked her & yep she was sore ,,, glad she told me , ( as she’s a green horse ) I thought she just having a I don’t want to move day! I have put her over poles on ground , but he’s asked me to chris cross them They’re obviously a great tool for our horses 😊

I love all your videos! I wish I had the money to have you come out here and do a couple of seminars for me and my horse friends out here, I would have free lodge for that plus be able to show you around Sedona, Flagstaff, the Grand Canyon, a creek canyon various wonderful areas in with Arizona, lol but my question is what videos do you have for someone who doesn’t know dressage, but the horse they owned does? I don’t know any dressage cues. I know some cues that sidepass, and all that kind of stuff, but I wouldn’t know the cues for passage/piaffe movements, i’ve been working very hard on keeping my horses financially through this ten-year battle of a genetic form of intestinal cancer, I’ve lost many organs over this, but I figure I have a brain I should be able to do certain things, and by doing it myself I get closer with my horses plus financially it saves me a lot of money, just like today I’m building my own Cavaletti poles at four by fours making two different sizes with one pole if I flip it one way at 8 inches taller if I flip it the other way it’s 4 inches taller, etc. anyhow, any thoughts you have would be awesome have a wonderful blessed day😁😁😁😁

This is a great training video! How do I transition to raised cavaletti and when should I practice riding with one hand while the other is on my hip, shoulder etc?

my horse really struggles with placing her feet, and going over poles makes her anxious so I’ve just worked with lunging her over 3 poles. but eventually I plan to build up to more complicated pole work

Cool! I knew about polework because I have a Standardbred I've been retraining and one of the main exercises to train her to pull her hind legs underneath herself is trot poles. I started on this a couple of days ago, and I was wondering how you know how far apart the poles should be? Is it better to have them closer together, even if this is slightly too short for her stride, rather than further apart?

Thank you! I am interested in knowing when to add more poles, what my seat should be going over them, and how do I know when my horse is ready to increase either the distance between the poles or when she's ready for more poles. Also, is it better to use walk poles for awhile (whatever that means) before trotting poles? How do I know? Thanks Callie for posting!

Thank you. For the past 14 months I’ve been building my mare’s top line very gradually. It’s been a beautiful transformation. Recently we moved up to raised Cavaletti work. Now I’m interested in her maintenance. Can I back off and maybe have her do 4 raised cavaletti @ 40 only twice a wk? Back up driveway hill 5 x’s a wk.? She’s 15 yrs. old now and I don’t want her to suffer unnecessary wear & tear... I need to stop her weight gain, too. Any advice is appreciated. Thank you. 💕

I ride a really lazy mare, I've rode her consistently for 8 months now and she is still lazy about picking up her feet over cavaletti, any advice? Also, are you using 4X4s for the cavaletti? Love your videos!

Can you please tell how far apart the poles should be for a horse about 15 and a half hands? I would like to try this.
