That military helmet is the best thing till a metal helmet or a BOS helmet and its convenient location (though being guarded by bloodbugs) makes it a lifesaver

Be careful a deathclaw can spawn near there. Its a bit off but they seem to be able to smell low level characters.

This is how I start every playthrough 1. Grab the fat man from the robotics disposal grounds 2. Grab the power armor and the minigun at the top of the museum of freedom 3. Kill swan for the furious power fist 4. Join the railroad for the deliverer pistol you get from deacon

My start is always this, go straight to sunshine tidings co op, hugging the map, get wasteland survival guide for x2 meat, stack the grilled radstag bug for inventory limit, then go back to vault and going straight to far harbor to get old longfellow as my all game companion.

The building with the root cellar, there's also a duffel bag on the roof. You can climb up one of the fallen trees to get to it.

The root cellar also has a chance of having a camera which helps you build a settlement recruitment beacon early game, but it doesn’t always spawn so you might have to load a quick save a few times to have it spawn.

I don’t know if anybody mentioned this but in the Root cellar there’s a very small chance that a camera may spawn in the crate, and it it is like the only way to get Crystal if you’re doing a sanctuary only run.

Also don’t forget about the junkyard near sanctuary. There you can find a fusion core in a chest and self destruct a century bot for two more. Then if you look just outside of the junkyard there will be either a T-45 power armor or a T-50 power armor suit.

You can also go get dog meat, return to the vault and go to the cryolator in the overseers room, trap dog meat inside the cellar and ask him to fetch items and he will pick the cryolator up.

I play fallout 4 as if I'm a kleptomaniac hoarder, if it's not nailed down I'm taking it, I've may or may not also have dragged tires and other objects I can't normally pick up to settlements to scrap them. This has had an effect on the way I play NV and 3 too, I'll collect every hammer, scrap metal, duct tape, wonderglue, etc. and wonder why I'm collecting them when those games don't have a use for them.

If you go north to the robotics scrapyard just across the lake, there will also be a fatman and a mini nuke. The nuke is to the left of the front gate under a tire. Takes a bit of jimmying to get it out.

for early power armour and fusion cores,head right from the vault and follow alongside the water that's between you and sanctuary you'll find a scrapyard with a sentry bot, activate it with the terminal and it'll clear the place of the incoming mole rats, after that you can make it self descltruct using the terminal and you get 2 free fusion cores (there's also a milutary chest next to it that can have more cores after that head on over to the road connected to the scrapyard and take a right, you'll bump into a suit of power armour

Fun Bethesda magic: you can get the gun in the overseer’s office in by asking dogmeat to look for loot. They will then walk up to it and pick it through the lock.

Eh....they fixed that bug awhile back, apparently. Last time that I tried bringing Dogmeat into Vault 111 to help me score the Cryolator before my lockpick skills were high enough, the game blocked me from getting to the Overseer's office.

@yungsagegaming8577 With Dogmeat as a companion, I can get into Vault 111 and as far as the door room, where you have the two access hallways, but when I try to leave the door room via the hallway leading directly to the Overseer's office? The hallway appears to have a poorly-rendered ceiling collapse a couple of feet in. But if I do it without Dogmeat being in the Vault with me, the game renders the hallways and overseer office fine so I can nab the Cryolator when I have Advanced lockpick skills

Another early tip: above the lake he talked about, there is a old junkyard that just casually has a Fat man(Mini nuke launcher) sitting in between some destroyed cars and tires, there is also a spare mini nuke for ammo and a robot you can send to clear out a nearby raider camp

Here’s a good tip scrap all of the fence and trees and cars houses to make a ton of shelves. You can get a couple of super easy XP if you have the time you can be like level eight or 10 if you have low intelligence try to get idiot savant

I acualy kept all the white fencing (as it's movable but yea can't build that type anywhere else ) an painstakingly moved every piece I found to a central 'lumber yard' area I created an used it for decorative fencing all around the settlement it took ages to do but well worth it in the end sorta sickened me aff the settlement building for a bit but it's all good

Another one is when you get the dog gi back to vault 111 and then you got to bring the dog at the place where you get a gun but you can't pick lock it yet since its a master (i forgot the name of the gun) and then you need to talk to the dog and go to fetch them items and the dog has to be in front of the gun and then the dog gets the gun somehow and then you talk to the dog again and then to trade and then you get the gun early Its the gun that you find in the first part of when your in the vault

Early tip: Got to the power line tower on the right once you leave the vault. You find a group of raiders. Shotgun, armor, pipe pistols too.

A small trick for new players. When you find dogmeat if you go back to the vault with him and go to the armoury you'll see thr cryo gun locked in a case with an expert lock. If you bring dogmeat to that room and ask him to find you a weapon he'll pull the cryo gun from the locked box and either drop it on the ground or put it in his inventory.
