To John's family I hope you will never remove this channel because John has helped so many and will continue to do so and also we all love him because he had a good heart. We have 6-10cm snow all over ,so really beautiful , but my dogs are white and l forgot my glasses . When they didn't move l couldn't see them. Great fun. Tomorrow l train back and legs. The dual ropes are amazing it's exactly like a tricep kickback but with cables and more constant tension

@@slatermauro2092 i think so, i just keep the cables high but still bend over and that works fine aswell, as long as you have both ropes for that extra range so you can get your arms behind you

I also love the sponge grip push downs. They feel great. Do you guys recommend close grip bench press if you already did a “tough” push workout with incline dumbbell and weighted dips. Would you recommend doing some intense cable rope or Tate press, kick backs with intensity only or do you usually put a close grip bench in there usually? Thanks

I love that cramp I get with those rope pushdowns when I really lock my shoulders back - kind of like combining a pushdown with a kick-back. It's a rare workout I don't use at least 1 Meadows technique.

Solid advice -- start with stretching/push down exercises that activate the inside long head and then move on to the skull crushers and behind neck extensions. You are an amazing teacher, John. Thanks for the well-crafted content.

i like SEVERAL warm up sets with several different machine movements and angles then 1 or 2 "meat and tater" exercises depending on the day, then i like to finish with a really deep stretch movement, like a behind the head 1 arm extension and really letting the weight dip down as deep as possible

Overhead dumbbell for tricep is king for me. Really gets nice DOMS for couple days in the long head mostly. Helped me get better at pushes too.

Speaking of elbow pain, my elbow on the side are in pain due to I pulled a muscle in my upper back when I did kneeling lat pulldown last week. My back is fine now but my elbow is still slightly hurting. The more I got beat up at the gym, the more I enjoy these kind of videos focusing on avoiding injury in the long term. Thanks, John.

Yep love pin presses. Close grip bench and overhead triceps extension. Underhand tricep push downs at cable is good too! So many ways to impact those triceps!

Tip #1 is definitely something I wish I learned earlier! I've been powerlifting since 2002 and I have a clicky elbow already, skull crushers are basically a no-go for me at all. Recently I've done more hypertrophy based work with skullcrushers as the final triceps exercise. I think that's the only way I can train them now, pre-fatiguing them.
