THANK YOU for this video!!! I followed your instructions for refilling the HP cartridges that came with my OfficeJet 6958; they'd been sitting around empty for about a year. (I've been using off-brand cartridges since the original HPs until my most recent purchase where I couldn't get the newly bought "counterfeits" to work no matter the troubleshooting I tried.) After doing everything per the video's instructions, including running the cleaning cycle 3 times, I was still getting streaking and missing print with the black color. So, I left the printer alone for 2 hours--as the video instructed--and everything is printing perfectly now! Hooray, and thank you again for this fantastic tutorial. I'll only be doing refills from now on instead of buying new cartridges. :)

Thanks for this video, which convinced me to buy an HP 6970 printer, with 903 cartridges, but before buying it, I would like your confirmation that it can stop counting the ink from the original cartridges from the setting "Automarically Send Anonymous Date " to be able to use original cartridges all the time by refilling, and eventually buy a set of chipless cartridges to attach the chip removed from the original cartridges. We can transfer the start up cartridges into xl cartridges. At first you have to cut back side plastic of the cartridge, only cut the different colors(magenta/blue/yellow) plastic not open the whole cartage. Then take a 3mm drill and drill at the bottom of the cartridge's back side.you have to two paralle drill ,one the outer wall & devider wall of the cartridge. After doing this you have to seal the outer wall of the cartridge with a rubber plug & use some super glue to fix the back plastic lock of the cartridge. Now it is a XL cartridge,you can refill the back chamber of the cartridge.

I followed the instructions... refilled original HP 910 Cartridges (HP OfficeJet Pro 8035e)... the refilling process worked out fine, kept printing normally... but 2 weeks later, Printer doesn't let me print anymore and is showing the following message: 'CARTRIDGES REJECTED - The indicated cartridges have been recently identified as used or counterfeit". Is there a way to print with refilled Cartridges with this Printer?

My ink cartridges are having no problems, but the printer thought they were nearly empty. I turned off the print count thing you showed in the video. I didn't know I could do that. Now my printer is printing without bothering me. Just one question: How does the printer know when a new cartridge has been installed?

That's what "turn off chip info" does. The printer doesn't know how much ink you have in your cartridge. It only counts how many pages (# of nozzle fired) printed, so it is just a big counter. It goes from zero to max and only counts one-way. Therefore, you won't be able to reset this chip. The "turn off chip info" will let the printer to keep printing after it reached the maximum number, which is exactly what you did. It doesn't stop the count, only force the printer to allow printing after the max.

Wouldn't turning off the counter after replacing the first set of cartridges work also? Wouldn't that; theoretically display a full level as long as the counter is turned off & still acknowledge the cartridges as real HP?

I don't think there is a way. I heard from a customer who bought a 2,000-page package. Then, the payment lapsed for a few days and HP refuse to honor the 2,000 pages already paid for.

The chip is encrypted. Theoretically, it is not possible. You can clone a chip and glue it to a cartridge. It is the way some refill shops do. I don't see the need of doing it. What's the point of using a "estimated" ink level?

That's a full pigment kit. It's better to keep the colors to be dye ink. I would suggest ID30-KCMY. You can keep the big black to be pigment by getting another IP30K, or just use the black in ID30 in both big and small (photo) blacks.

Even after doing all of this, my refilled 902 black cartridge will not print. I ran 3 cleanings and no luck. This is a new printer with the cartridges that came with it. I turned off the Store Anonymous Usage Information & Automatically Send Data. It is not even printing black on the maintenance quality pages.

It could be. How did you know? Canon has a big thing for us. If we sell anything on Amazon with the word "compatible with Canon", they will send their letters to shut us down. Epson has a robot to automatically search our site and find anything they can put us in trouble. HP has been very good to us but time will tell.
