hi, can i ask you a question? In this video, the author said he used the copper mesh as a substrate for the reference electrode (RE), but I didn't see the RE in his assembly process. Can you point it out for me?

@@ThangPVan_ The copper mesh is used as a substrate for lithium, which will be deposited electrochemically (you have to apply low potential (slightly lower than 0 V vs Li+/Li0) between the mesh (working e.) and lithium electrode (counter e.). That will result in dissolution of lithium metal on the anode of the full cell and deposition on copper mesh. And there you go, you have lithium covered reference electrode :) Tip: use current-controlled process, and limit the current to very low values (in the range of 1 uA max or even lower), to decrease growth of lithium dendrites. If you measure the charge that will flow, you can derive how much lithium was deposited :)

Hi, If I use enameled copper wire, without any polyimide tape, do you think the epoxy will still be necessary? Also, adding a tiny blob of lithium on the wire would probably be better than the copper mesh. Thank you.
