The one sided pave is a fantastic tip. You do give very useful advice!

Just doesn’t work when you get an eternity band to sit the other side. Just best to not have the Pavè bridge at all

My wedding band is titanium and I wanted no pave diamonds touching it from my engagement ring so thankfully my husband knew exactly what he was doing Plus hes a cyclist and wears his wedding ring when he races too and the titanium hasnt lost its shape from gripping the handlebars 👍👍

Please Does a floral/tulip basket setting work well with a hidden halo? Trying to decide on a solid but aesthetic design for an engagement ring to propose to my girlfriend. Really appreciate your content.
@BijouLab8 ай бұрын
It’s definitely possible and would be very secure but does impact the aesthetics of the petals if you have a hidden halo going straight across. I prefer to have the tulip prongs overlap so it doesn’t negatively impact the aesthetics while giving you the support of a hidden halo. Feel free to email me if you have questions! What are your thoughts on Alexandrite?

Dang, makes me wonder why people keep getting their rings designed like this... 🤔🤔 i assume they just go for the looks and dont care about durability 😮💨😮💨

To be fair though before watching her contents as someone who doesn't know anything about jewelry I don't know any better too. I thought as long as you buy your ring from reputable sellers then your ring is gonna last.

Most people just don’t know, care or think about durability/functionality, and how rings will wear over time.
@BijouLab8 ай бұрын
@@alyasafiraip you’re exactly right! Most people just don’t know (and I wouldn’t expect them to!) And sadly a lot of people jewelry companies hire to “design” their rings aren’t jewelers and don’t think about durability or how rings wear in real life. Which is why I try to make videos to empower people to choose wisely and make informed buying decisions! 💪🏼

I’ve sold pave bridge for 15 years, maybe 5 people have come back with stones missing…. All depends on the setter and is the ring made preset, or drilled and set, also are the melee ideal cut and calibrated 100 the same or variates

I love my pear shape 1 1.2 carate surrounded with tiny diamond's made by Blue Nile... It's center stone is blue.. ❤

Other than attaching the two rings together is there a way to prevent the two rings from running against each other.. doesn't going up a size / looser ring help ?
@BijouLab8 ай бұрын
No, going up in size would make them spin/rub more! You could add a thin spacer ring between them👍🏼

For me, pave is not pleasing to look at. I abhore prongs. I prefer channel and bezel settings...

I feel like I can pry that petit prongs open with my fingernails 😦 my paper staples are thicker than that

Does the “eagle claw” style of prong count as petite? I was just looking up Edwardian rings and they all had that.
@BijouLab8 ай бұрын
A claw prong can be totally fine and sturdy-the shape on top isn’t the main component that affects the durability, it’s how thick the prongs are from the base to the tip. For example, I typically design a 2 ct stone to have prongs with a 1.3mm diameter and titrate the prong size depending on the stone size. A 1 carat stone obviously doesn’t need as large of prongs as a 4 carat stone and this is where a lot of ring designs fail. The prongs in this video look like they’re 0.6mm and barely large enough for a 1 carat stone yet they’re holding a 6 carat emerald 😭

But I love the tripple pave engagement rings :( So you're saying the diamonds will wear out the gold of the wedding band? What if both the engagement ring and wedding band have a pave band? Is that better?
@talialalalala8 ай бұрын
No, your diamonds will just scratch each other and make them cloudy aside from raising the risk of them falling out. You could solder them together so they don’t rub?
