The most outstanding history teacher one never had, inspiring, informative, and so on. Also very impressive - unless this is a deep fake- that he is reciting this quasi by heart. Certainly a (audio) book for the long list, thank you very much for sharing (and publishing).

In a Christmas tweet he reminded listeners about the terrible spike in antisemitic incidents, including the ‘venomous slurs and hateful abuse’ against Jewish people, and asked people to acknowledge the ‘real fear stalking the Jewish neighbourhoods of Britain’. This to some meant that he was taking a side in the Israel-Hamas war and that somehow his anti-hate message supported the Israel side of the war specifically. Some Twitter users took that to mean he supports killing of Palestinians. Basically, don’t worry about these clowns.

I remember during the internationally unpopular U.S. war in Vietnam,American citizens, who also opposed the war, traveling in Europe sometimes wore Canadian flags on their lapels or backpacks to avoid verbal or other abuse. Not all Israelis and not all Jews support the current Netanyahu regime’s war crimes.
