Thank you thank you thank you! I had a bit of trouble with the SVG file from OpenStreetMap where none of the coloring was saved and, instead, the map was essentially invisible in Illustrator. My silly little workaround was to ungroup (cardinal sin), Select > Appearance on all the buildings and again for all the road lines and edit colors, line weights, etc. that way. Much faster than whatever I was planning to do before! Thank you for sharing this resource!

CAD mapper will do roads but you need to check the outline option, On road lines geometry centerline is automatically checked. You can then adjust the widths of roads, Highway, major, minor and paths

So I'm a builder. Doing small things from here to here the city wants a site plan. Say for a shed or small garage. My 1st thought is why can't I use Google maps, apply some sort of filter that shows black and white, the property lines, roads, the house, etc. Print it and hand draw/write where changes or additions are being added. Hope these methods will work, haven't tried yet 👌

akka we are not able to follow you. it is really hard to understand and follow as we are in the beginer stage. and the very important moves are getting skipped.
