The Cake Doctor Cookbooks are still a staple for me. There are several in the series, three for cakes, cookies, then she wrote one for dinners, and another with recipes to use for taking to share. Can't go wrong with her great recipes!

Not sure how old the cake doctor books are. But I have some old cake mix recipes that don't turn out anymore. The new boxes of cake mix have less in them than from years ago. Have you had to adjust any recipes to account for the deficit? My recipes call for a 1 lb box.

I’d say any “regular/average” sized cake mix would still work. I have a recipe book, The Cake Mix Bible from 2005. A lot of the recipes in it calls for “about a 18-1/4oz box.” I didn’t really pay attention to the exact size since the mixes seem to come in a “one size” box. I just checked after reading your comment & I guess they started making the boxes smaller bc all of mine are 15.25 oz now. But I have made many of the recipes and they all have turned out great. On a side note, 16 ounces = 1 pound, so you’d probably be safe using a any regular cake mix. Good luck.

@@CookCleanAndRepeat Oh man, I just thought of an idea: what if u took the "black bottom cupcake recipe" (one with cream cheese marbled in the cake?) and put cream cheese blobs in the strawberry or peach cakes?! Better yet, make the cakes into muffins! I have that recipe for cupcakes & sheet & remember u need to add an egg into the cream cheese to lighten it so it incorporates with the cake batter.
