Great job! I’ve always loved this genre but could never figure out how to incorporate it… This lesson has opened a door that I was previously locked out of for years and for that I’m really grateful. Now the hard work ahead just got much easier… Thank you, Sir.

I just began my second year with Brian. I just want to say thank you Brian. I went from a completely non musical, non guitar playing 58 year old to a slightly better non musical, sort of guitar player. I find that you offer so much for all levels. As Plato once said; “The more I know, the more I don’t know. Thank you for your excellent teaching and work you do😊😊

Brian--great lesson, I had a blast working on this one! Question: If I'm understanding things correctly, the "5 of the 5"....secondary dominant... is actually also the 2 chord. (same reasoning that the 5 of the 4 chord is the 1, or root. So---is it correct to say that the 2-5-1 turn around is actually the same as.... The 5 of the 5---- the 5---the 1? (I know, pretty clumsy, but if I follow the explanation of how the 5 of a particular chord can create tension, and is musically "good", then it makes sense how the 2-5-1 progression works as well. And, I've conveniently left out major/minor, so if the strategy is to make the 5 of the 5 major (or the minor 2 chord major), then I think it still hangs together.)
@brucegreenwood26343 жыл бұрын
I have no idea why part of the text in my comment is lined out.... sorry about that...
@activemelody3 жыл бұрын
Yes, you got it. the 5 of the 5 of the 1 is essentially the 2-5-1 .. only difference is the 2 by default is minor.. but you can play a 2 major, 5, 1 which is also super common.
