What is so crazy is that i found an Interview made in 1980 with Mick Jagger and Caetano Velloso,brazilian as me,in New York,and he played this song ( live with me )in the intro using a classic guitar. And was so good.

Nice one. Hard to pick with Keith. 'Honky Tonk Women' tends to be my favourite, though the overall sound of 'Gimme Shelter' and 'Paint it Black' are hypnotic. 'Bitch' is often overlooked though. Far too many. He's a true master.

The Strat neck pickup sound you have is really nice. My fave Sones riff is Can't You Hear Me Knocking.

I play most Stones songs in regular tuning, but for the open G rifts, I just play strings 2-3-4. It works good live, I use the 2nd and 3rd finger like you did and you don't have to re-tune or have a second guitar on stage. This is limited however, songs like "Can You Hear Me Knocking" HAVE to be tuned to open G to get that sound when Mick sings "Can you hear me knocking" and you use the first two strings. "Start Me Up" sounds great though with just using 3 strings.

I found that Tumbling Dice, Can't Always Get What You Want, Jumping Jack Flash, Brown Sugar, All Down The Line, Hand Of Fate, Stop Breaking Down all play better in open G playing live and moving about. I have a Tele in open G as alternate guitar for some songs at gigs.
@janstan84072 жыл бұрын
@@littleglimmer2325 10, I get it. It's just that I don't own multiple guitars, and I hate dragging extra stuff to gigs for just two or three songs. But you are right. It is always best to play a song written for open G in an open G tuning. Same with Nashville tuning. ("Wild Horses") But if you do that, that's all you can do with that guitar until you change the strings again. "Start Me Up" just using the 2-3-4 strings with some distortion works great in my experience without tuning the whole guitar to G. Thanks for commenting!
@littleglimmer23252 жыл бұрын
@@janstan8407 Yep, totally feasible. Otherwise you end up like me - 3 guitars to a gig (regular, backup and 5 string G). And another dozen hanging on the wall for recording. Wife can't get on board with that, though, for some reason.
@janstan84072 жыл бұрын
@@littleglimmer2325 10-4. I'd love to drop $1,500 on a good guitar, but the mortgage gets in the way. Never had a guitar for under five hundred, but all I hear are horror stories. If you get 3 years out of a "cheap" guitar, you're lucky. Having idiots mess with the truss rod when they don't know what they're doing doesn't help.
