Buzz? Are you sure that the middle Pan is a 55? I thought I saw the badge on the front fender that was put on the 1954 model year for Harley Davidson’s 50th anniversary.

The 55's also had a badge, 1955 FL, !955 FLH, just not the 54 anniversary badge

does the 55 have the high performance FLH engine that came out in 55 and a three speed trans with reverse ? is the 48 and 65 four speed transmissions ?
@buzzkanter7 жыл бұрын
All three bikes have 4 speed tansmissions. 1955 is an FL - not an FLH. Thanks.

1st hand shift 65 I've ever seen.

V Matt Me too I was wondering if any one knew if this was original or an ad on? If I could find a 65 and they did have some hand shifters I think I would ad one. I've always liked them.

Police option from the factory with the smaller gas tanks.
@AbdulAllahAbuDaoud5 жыл бұрын
You could get a tank shift/foot clutch right up into the early 70’s
@steveperry13444 жыл бұрын
@@michaelsmith1094 i think the cops preferred the foot clutch because they could get off the bike in a hurry without searching around for neutral.

I must correct you. The '65 FL was not the only Panhead to come from factory with 12 volt. The only difference in the oiling system is the outside top end oilers of the 65 and a higher output pump. And that is not a stock 65 dash panel. Come on man.

Oh? What other year Panhead came with 12 volt from the factory?

I cringe when I hear the term "project bike" when applied to a classic . Just leave it alone. It's fine the way it is. If you want to customize something there are plenty of avenues to follow involving custom frames including vintage reproductions, custom motors etc. If one is fortunate to find vintage pieces worth salvaging then by all means build up to vintage specs.a show bike.

By project bike, I did not mean customized. If anything, I prefer to get them running properly and then bring them back to closer to stock on these old ones. No need to cringe here :-) Thanks.
