Grinding hostiles is something @everyone has to do every single day in Star Trek Fleet Command. If you were ever looking for a game where you grind reds all day, well this is the perfect one for you. Rev, you brought a tear to my eye. I thought I was the only one who uses the BORG crew on the Vidar. So many players do not. That's shocking. It's like fighting fire with fire, you fight BORG with BORG, and look at what they do. My BORG crew smashes Nano probes. Thanks for pointing that out.

Rev Deuce, what I normally do for a set up like yesterday's events is use Pike, Moreau, Chen to hit the level 26 Fed Separatists with my Bortas, then move to Wolf 359 to do Cosmic Cleanup/Faction Hunt/Hostile Hunt along with my Klingon/Romulan Faction dailies (IF I haven't done them at reset). With your crew level, I recommend taking your Franklin to T8. It's a grind but the Phasers are a huge help (although you probably fill your cargo with your loadouts). My Franklin upped the Cargo to T9 and even at my level I can fill 28k on level 30 swarms without breaking a sweat (more modulators means faster upgrades and I will eventually max out my Franklin). Another thing that I'm finding helpful (and more so for players that base in level 27 or lower systems) is to build, max, level and scrap 2* ships for 3* materials (it's not a huge amount, but most of us have piles of unused 2* materials gathering dust).

I wold like to add 2 things: always put Pike crew on the ship with most time/cost on repairs (it’s easy to repair Franklin). And two crews is the best number cause u can break one ship, put it to repair and takeoff with second. Once second break u use speedups to fix 1st and put 2nd to fix. With those two hints u can keep playing killing red ships no stop.

You are forgotting one aspect. Travel time. With just 2 ships you are waiting for one of them to warp to where you want in after the first round of them both being destroyed. With three, you can have one repairing, one travelling, one fighting until it dies. No dead time waiting around.

@Rev - I've been using this crew for a while now to grind Swarms and/or any interceptor from an explorer and it absolutely rocks .... snw spock ... Cath in the chair ... T'Laan ... fantastic performance and Cath also helps out in the repair ship dept. No need to run SNW spock as capt as the swarms have no shields. Frees up Pike/Moreau and you are doing better than with them ... enjoy! PS ... also use it on the weekly Anomalous Phenomena mission

Thanks for the Crews. Already Use them.. but I'd like to point out 2 other things from this video.. some events were "reduced" to Battlepoints only because the actual rewards was transferred over to the battle pass, so as to comply with the Less Screen Time plan. (supposedly, today Vulcan's hello says otherwise) Grinding 3 systems at the same time is how the client "leaks" memory and crashes more. which is why I stopped doing it.

For me even just two (playing on an android) gets extremely laggie and takes ages before the ships/whole view loads when changing systems. thats if they are not getting mixed up- which happened to me too. so stopped myself too.

Slightly surprised about your comment about your difficulty of doing Seperatist hunt on your level 26 ftp account, I’m also ftp level 26 and I complete the event in 1 battle using my North Star using the method you showed in your video’s I use Kirk, Spock morale crew sometimes I use Zhou instead of Spock and I use Georgiou for burning of course my ship gets destroyed but completes the Event no hassle... and love your video’s always learning how to play the game better which brings me more enjoyment when playing

Thank you for mentioning the officers, yet still I have to repair one ship at a time so as long as I don't finish the daily on one go I will have to repair the ships one at a time. they should put an option for at least two ships at a time. Don't know what is the use of upgrading each dock as long as it will be always one ship repairing. They can at least put an option for miner repairs or even for USS Franklin repair for swarm hostiles

I was pleased with the anniversary event were you could combo the hull event with hitting hostile 29 and up, with the right franklin you could reap massive hulll by hitting 30 swarms. Hope to see more combo event like thing and make events more prized.

The best hostile crew for my Sally is Gorkon, Kerla, and Wolten. Wolten works best for engagements under 5 rounds.

at lvl 29 I'm so happy I got my centurion to a level where I can get my separatists boss run done in one pass. When I was lower lvl and using burning crew it took awhile. now with my pike crew it's one pass. My centurion can actually do each of my dailies in one pass except for my Rom faction (just locked it) so lvl 39 fed ships take two run. but its cut the time down by a lot. I gotta try that Borg crew. tried it earlier and it wasnt tough enough, will give it another go with my tiered up vidar

From my experience, using 5/10 as the capt instead of 7/10 results in more kills for me when fighting the borg. (about 20 lvl33 kills vs about 13 lvl 33 kills) and if your focusing on hitting the 4k+ loot probes, that difference in loot can grow quite drastically. 5/10 is LTJG, other 2 are LT.

If you don't have Pike (yet), Bones (not the cadet) in his place also works very very well. Also, as a lvl 27, separatist hunting event is literally the easiest of the bunch! Just send out the kumani just before calling it a night, hit a separatist boss and be done for 90% leaving just maybe 10 elites for the day after. Or do those before, depending on what time of the day your "game" day starts, as for me it's at 18 o clock (apart from the daily goals which weirdly enough start at 6 in the morning XD)

Does it REALLY work? Also, how high does Bones, Moreau, and T'laan need to be in order to be effective? In addition, how high up should your Franklin be?

@@badone65 That's always extremely difficult to say, since the large number of possible officer and rank/tier combinations. I used Bones until very recently since I only just (this morning XD) got Pike. Got Bones at tier 3 (giving 20% bonus). Pike is clearly superior though, due to synergy bonus i.c.w. Moreau, depending a bit on the situation. For example Borg, with Bones Moreau Chen I could get about 10K nanoprobes, with Pike instead I get 12K. For Franklin I cannot say, don't have it

Rev Deuce on the Vidar swap Five of 10 with seven of ten in and Carol Marcus works where 9 of ten is that seems to work best. Really in my tests 9 or carol comes out about the same even if you try to max it out hitting only probes with 4000 and above inert nanoprobes but Definitely PUT 5 as Captain.

@@RevDeuce Just try it man. I'm slaying level 33's and usually getting between 130 and 140 K inert nanoprobes. make sure you close and open the game after you change crews I don't know if it is a bug per say but when you change crews I think the math gets jacked up sometimes unless you reload.

hit level 30 borgs with the borg decius in the vidar? I think you meant 29s. they have they firing pattern thingy where you only get hit 10% of the time. Amiright?

Right, only place you can fill your cargo hold in one run. The sweet spot for the Vi'dar to be able to start doing it is T7 with first gun upgraded.

At t8-t9 i just do 2x lvl 33 I get 60-75k per run (research dependant ofc). With 4k per probe this is much quicker.

Hitting 29s I get 290k per run. Takes about an hour per run. I do double pulls at T9 and get 30k charged probes. Then I buy independent credits along with Rom credits for a total of 16k. Then buy Aug prints lol. The Vi'dar is a faction credit factory.

Maybe this is covered in a comment below but I found a great Borg Probe crew for the V'dar is the SNW crew SNW Spock, SNW Ortegas and SNW Uhura. This upped my V'dar's perfomance a ton over my usual 7, 8, 9 crew. Thoughts?

The only crew that I can get full cargo with on my t8 lvl.40 Vi'dar (330k cargo at the moment) is with the full SNW Pike, Uhura and T'Laan crew against lvl.33 borgs. I've tried with 7(c) 8 and 9, and also with 5of11, but I only get a 3rd of the cargo capacity with the borg crew. I don't understand why the borg crew sucks so much for me when so many ppl and even the description of the borg officers says that they're great for probe farming.

Interesting that you're using the Cadets for grinding and not the Epic/Rare cards. Example, I'm using Kirk, Spock, Zhou on my Vahk as I rip through Rom space and that's working. Now I'm curious about using the cadets again....

I always see either pike mareau chen or the cadet version, but never a transitional team for when you acquire mareau but are still trying to get Pike. Is there no temporary replacement for pike to allow the use of mareau?

I use Pike Moreau Harrison to hit L38/39 Klingon Batteships for my faction daily. Went from 24 kills per run with Chen to over 50! As long as the kill is complete in one round, it pays to use Harrison! T7 L35 Saladin.

My current hostiles crew is blue Uhura+Cadet Uhura (c) + chen or T'lan. im an 18 lvl . using the TURAS. i got Moreau but testing gets me better results with the double Uhura crew plus verry attack below deck - the only thing constantly makes me beat just ONE 19lvl swarm per round :( would focusing defence or health make it better? haven't tried yet.

Did you try burning trick. Use vemet with nero in any ship that can reach the boss space. Die multiple times. Get points when burn triggers

@@kingoffalconskingoffalcons6208 Better technique: Use Arix as capt, Kumak, and Nero on a Franklin. Arix can trigger burning if energy weapon hits (Franklin has 3 of them) and the Frankie is dirt cheap to repair.

I actually got a second one for that specific purpose but never used it cause i got pike shortly after and can kill them now. but still like vemet better as captain. The ship respawns immediately and you can get up to 3 attacks out of it. Arix is only needed if you don't have nero

I use all 3 setups but I put moreau cadet Mccoy and 9 of 10 first where you have them 3rd dose there position make a difference in the officer bridge spots and would that also make a difference in pvp setups

I really don't get why people are not using the natural order of officers, with the captain in the middle :). It's extremely confusing. The ship deck clearly shows the order and position.

You burn tactic in an envoy or 2s ship only takes two hits if burn goes off so it shouldn't be that hard.

Rev is being too kind. These crews expose the lack of design sense at Scopely. Want to hunt Trit? Use the trit hunter? No. Use hostile crew, it’s more efficient and yields more trit. I would love to see a vid on crews other than the Borg that actually do better than these crews at just about anything. IMO, most hostile oriented crew need a boost in their abilities until they actually do better than PMT/C at whatever they are supposed to do. Otherwise, their cards are mostly just waste.

Also theres a sick new dpr setup involving disco arc officers and a romulan. I apologize for being insulting but jeez, just like scopely should be embarrassed about how much money they take in from fans (especially for a p2w game which remains so full of unfixed bugs, laughable customer service and decisions/practices based on company valuation, customers be dammed) you too should feel some kind of way about making a video out of lcars material instead of thinking for yourself. Hmm. Now I kind of wonder if it's on purpose, keep the community dumb so you can pirate them easier?
