The fabric is so glam, I love that you went whimsical with the ribbon instead of a satin or velvet ❤

Oh my gosh you’ve accomplished so much! Also I’m in the upper right corner of the United States and it is -8 Celsius but watching you in the summer makes me so happy. Lol

@@bronwynemma Ah, certainly not in that pretty Christmas dress you made! lololol. I was out clearing snow with a full mask and a half one over it, snow suit, and woolen socks inside my Uggs. Merry Christmas to you and your pup! I will continue my snow clearing in the morning with my winter gear. 🎄✨😁☃️❄️🌫🌟

Beautiful fabric! Lovely dress. I put zips in by stitching the seam together, place zip on inside, hand baste it in place then sew it on the outside with a zipper foot. Unpick the seam down to the stopper.

Thank you! The fabric has been waiting patiently for the perfect project and I think this was it! Your zip method was how the pattern told me to do it... but I've not done it that way and when I'm in a rush, I stick to what I know!! 😅 But I'll definitely have to try it that way!

That turned out very pretty! I loved the fabric as well. I would have used an invisible zipper or overlapped the one you used to hide it better, but the ribbons ended up helping in that regard. Marcy Harriell has a great video on invisible zips that I’ve reference a couple of times. Also, hand basting the zipper before sewing keeps it under control and even and you’re not fighting pins. Have a Merry Christmas, and I hope you find a party to wear your pretty new dress to!

Thank you!! I've not done any invisible zips yet, so I'm a bit scared of them 😂 But I'll definitely look up Marcy Harriell when I do tackle one! Merry Christmas to you!

My mom had a similar dress in the 50’s I guess, also taffeta, just on grey tone. When I was little I used to dress like a princess in it. Lovely memories! Thank you

Great job, also what was the lovely dress you were wearing while sewing, new to your site so may have missed it

Thank you! The one I was wearing was one I bought a couple years ago, so not made by me! I'm pretty sure it's by a brand called Zapaka.
