Imagine living over twice as long as your average life expectancy, like that dolphin. That would be like us living to 140-160 years. Absolutely wild.

Unfortunately, 20 years is the average age in captivity. In the wild, their average age is more like 40+, with some living into their 60's.

Sadly in July of 2019 Bucky passed away from cancer. His cancer returned and in March of 2019 he went for surgery to remove a mass on his shoulder. That surgery was a success, however it returned quickly and he passed shortly after. It was an aggressive cancer. The following year Bucky's partner Calamity also passed away from cancer. The rescue center/park wanted the same vet who treated Bucky the year prior, but Covid prevented him from being able to go. Vets at the center had to then preform the risky surgery on Calamity. She passed on the operating table. Bucky was 49. Calamity was in her 40s. The pair had 3 babies together Zippy, Bella and Jet. Both Bucky and Calamity were babies when rescued. Both had severe injuries and weren't able to be released do to them.

His bright and easy going personality and the way that he gently handles and unique way he talks to all the animals he treats along with the side jokes that he makes here and there have always brought a smile to my face. You can see how much Dr. Chris loves helping his patients and its do heartwarming seeing them get better. Gypsy's story truly touched me her owners were so incredibly worried for her and i freak out over every little thing with my animals so it always gets me when i see other owners get upset over their babies. Side note cant believe that bulldogs owner waited over a year to address his breathing and to take him to the vet🥺

I was enchanted watching this entire program! Each story touched my heart, the depth of love between these wonderful vets, staff, pet-parents and their animals is so phenomenal! I was afraid that there would be very sad endings to some stories but was really grateful that you showed ones with happy survival outcomes. That they ended so well is obviously due to your incredibly loving hearts and total dedication. Each recovery made me so happy, all the generosity of spirit and financial assistance, it was one of the most "feel good" programs I've seen in a long time. I'm new to your show, but already want to see more episodes. I'll probably be in tears at times in the program, due to happiness or sadness, but never stay indifferent! Gypsy and Bucky were so special, and that adorable bundle of love from Fiji. I pray for the ideal human parents for all foster animals. That poor bulldog worried me, as did they all, of course. So happy to see little "Mitzi" able to play so soon after surgery. I must have missed a moment, so have to look for the outcome of "Wayne". YOU ALL HAVE MY ADMIRATION: THE HUMANS AS WELL AS THE ANIMALS! I'M SO GRATEFUL TO EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU LOVING HUMAN BEINGS WHO HAVE SUCH BIG HEARTS FOR ANIMALS! GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

I wonder if she wouldn't have benefited from them shortening the bottom jaw to match the top jaw & use the resulting leftover skin as a graft to improve the overall bite. That said, I understand this was pro bono & they probably did all they could afford. And she undoubtedly is now much better off after the surgery than before - so nothing but love for all who reached out to help her.

Well, he might not have had the money. He didn't know if the dog would need a big surgery, or how expensive it would be. Maybe he only just saved up enough. But I do think he should have at least gotten that poor boy checked, if he wasn't able to have a full operation or whatever he needed.

His partner Calamity who was in the pen with him also passed from cancer and there were concerns about one of their offspring, Zippy, who had papilloma tumors in the mouth they were monitoring. Calamity passed less then a year after Bucky. Bella and Jet seem to be doing alright. There are some people calling for the three to be removed from the sanctuary due to concerns about the performances and Zippy performing with the tumors.

@@Silentstillwater Really, all cats should. Just as you walk a dog pls take the effort to walk your cat. Many experts recommend it to help with behavioral issues and stimulate their natural instincts, while also getting proper exercise. Cats need to be in the house. Their are to many different things that can cause a cat harm and dogs seem to need to only be out when they are going on a walk. Than ticks, fleas, attacks from other animals wouldn’t occur like this. It seems like Wayne needs a home. He would do so much better at survival. Poor little Poppy. She is still adorable to me. And deserves so much love and care. Poppy didn’t deserve any of what she went through. The fact that she still is so loving is even more precious. She wants to be loved and not be alone. I love poppy! This vet has such an amazing and loving heart. There are still really good and kind people out there. I am crying for poppy! She is so amazing!

Poor Mitsy i would be so angry at the vet who put the microchip in and the fact they saw her having a seizure as soon as the chip was inserted it should have raised red flags and the vet should have investigated the issue straight away im so glad her foster parent fought for her and took her to SASH for answers

So far I've gotten as far as the bulldog. My mouth fell open when his human said he'd been doing that for a year!!! WHY in the world did he let his baby go that long!! It wouldn't have taken me less than 48 hours to get my baby to the vet!!! Okay now I'm watching Poppie. You mean to tell me that vets are so greedy they couldn't do that sweet little dogs much needed surgery for free!! Come on I know how much vets make because each and every time I take my baby to his vet I walk out paying NO LESS than $400+!!!! So instead they'd rather the baby walk around in pain for the past 7 months it took the kind lady to raise the necessary funds!! My mind is just blown!
