Story 5: genuine or fiction hit hardest for sure. *I am not legally qualified to give anyone advice* However, my advice: 1) Never apologize or sidestep your boundaries or beliefs for another person (whether that be the belief you can change them)their opinion, accepting their view over your own or being bullied into believing their viewpoint) Every human has a right to an opinion and that opinion ends when it incites disrespect or danger to another. His opinion is his own that does not mean it is your fault for not seeing it sooner, people mask well; love that it will be a question for the future and that we're learning though!! Full support 2) Conversationally: you can go two ways that I know -Your opinion makes me uncomfortable and demonstrates that we do not have the same core values required to continue a shared future, as so we need to go our separate ways -Your words and opinions have demonstrated that our values are very different and before any entanglement occurs I suggest an amicable parting of the relationship Or straight up; your values demonstrate you're a shitty person and I choose to live my life separately from yours Take your pick for the standard of communication. 2) As hard as it is to hear;some things aren't worth a conversation. Meaning; he may not consider anything you present as valuable and also sometimes people just aren't worth the time and crayons to explain shit to. You have to make that decision based on how worthy they are to you and also for you. 3) Acceptance of someone is not a compromise. You either love a human as they are in all their traits or not. You can't cherry pick what qualities you're willing to respect and which you're not; denying love to a child for being part of the queer community is the same as the childs hair color meaning they don't deserve love and family acceptance. There is no trait that should deny human respect and acceptance (religion, sexuality, profession all of it) DENYING LOVE BASED ON A CHARACTERISTIC NOT OKAY. -side note: at what point are they supposed to compromise on a person's life choice? The point where it's obvious and can no longer be swept under the rug or the point that it affects them in some way? Not a great sign for a person to have conditions on a hypothetical human.... 4) You are not overreacting!! You are reacting to a newly obtained set of information; reanalyzing that situation from the new info made you realize that was not compatible and you chose to cut your losses and find a more suitable match. That is not overreacting. Overreacting would be getting angry at a person for having different values and standards and yelling their views are a mistake or gaslighting them that one person's belief is superior... Making a Facebook rant complaining about being broken up with for his closed minded and hurtful view and blaming it on the change in society is Ludacris. Block him on everything, no contact 5) Inform the school. Children of that age are struggling enough with learning to navigate the world and be themselves and need faculty who help guide them and support them. He would be a danger to a struggling student trying to find their place so he needs to be removed from potentially harming them. Provide a screenshot of the post, any voice notes of his demeaning statements and any written info on his "personal viewpoint" and email it to the school. 6) We all make mistakes, it's how we handle them that defines us. I hope you find peace in whatever solution you choose to move forward with and know you're better off without him 🖕

Side note: GO HUMAN FOR STANDING YOUR GROUND. The childish and stupid retaliation they attempted to demean you show you did the right thing and their discomfort is not your problem. The legal action and threats are worth acting on especially as it is untrue and shows a level of vindictiveness that is potentially dangerous.

And F*ck the last update of her demise hit like a ton of bricks... Wherever you are darling, you are loved, respected and deserved better. You are brave and will be honored for your courage against a situation you knew wasn't right. Thank you, may you be remembered and blessed for your actions
