Two thumbs up for Jim for being so tall. I can’t believe I watched this entire video. Much of it was familiar but not all. I noticed in the early part when you were still in your apartment that you had OXO containers with various seeds and nuts in your pantry. Because seeds and nuts contain large amounts of oils, it is best to store them in the refrigerator or freezer unless you will be using them quickly or they can become rancid. I’ll bet you figured out since you originally made the beautiful pantry in your apartment.

I have raised 11 children and 38 grandchildren, canning and producing all of our food from scratch. I could have NEVER used so many dishes and containers. It is wonder that you like it, but I personally would be overwhelmed taking care of soooo much inventory.

The IKEA sandwich bags are washable I even turn mine inside out and pop on top shelf of the dishwasher. Have reused them over and over, I think the silicone ones that you buy from Amazon you have to hand wash which after a while is a real pain and they're very expensive. Love your vlogs very inspiring x

Sophie, you have an amazing kitchen. I can't believe it's in an apartment! I have a smallish kitchen in a 1960 house. At some point it was remodeled, but I must say that I dislike those two drawers we have under the cooktop for our pots and pans. In all honesty, if we had cabinet drawers and shelves, I could store our many pots and pans much more efficiently. I believe in having items multitask, but my husband keeps buying and buying whenever All-Clad has a sale!

Hi Sophie-I’m in Omaha too! I have an organizing challenge-I converted a bedroom to an office, and I need a budget friendly way to somehow turn a small clothing closet into a space to store all of my office supplies - from pens to paper, toner, electronics, etc. Elfa is over my price point and installing more shelves I’m afraid is beyond my abilities. Any other product ideas? Love your inspiring channel!!

I was able to get an old check cabinet that has 27 drawers that held business size checks or a ream of legal size paper. Look for companies that deal with recycled file cabjnets.

It took me about 3 weeks to get through the whole 3 hours but I used it as my reward after a day of staying on task. I have purchased several frig/freezer organizers you've suggested. I can finally find things in my standing freezer. The only freezer left for you to organize is the chest type!! Love this style video.

We keep our leftovers on the top shelf of the refrigerator which is eye level and tends to be colder up there. So when someone is hungry outside of service hours, top shelf is the standard reply. Also have a side-by-side and prefer the French door fridge with the pull-out freezer drawer, not in the budget anytime soon! ☹

The ideas are great but for most of us unrealistic. Apartments don't have all that space and most of us can't afford to have a house that has all those cabinets and drawers,and closets.

Hi Sophie! I discovered your channel a few weeks ago and I'm hooked! I love everything that has to do with organization. And I bought 4 of your microfiber cloths which I love! I bought a Cricut Joy but it's been a bit joyless for me. I'm not the most patient person and for this you need a lot of patience! Any tips on getting the transfer tape away from the backing? At times I've worked on a piece of transfer tape for 15 minutes! And I don't have any tips on my nails or anything. I've taken to using a blow dryer on hot on the edge of the transfer tape and that seems to help. I have, at last, gotten everything that needs a label labelled. Another problem I ran into with the Cricut Joy is that when I chose Smart Vinyl as my material, the machine would freeze on Cutting. So now I just choose Premium Vinyl for everything and it's working fine. Actually better since I use the mat for all label jobs. Thoughts?

A quick tip for reusable silicone ziplock bags. If I’ve used 1 and wash it, I dry mine by putting a whisk upside down in a mug then put the bag over the whisk 😊 boom. Dry 😊 I live alone and haven’t ever washed 2 or more at one time lol If they’re easier to wash & dry, I use mine more!

I love XO containers and have some, but they are way too expensive. My hands are arthritic so I need something easy open. I need things organized with me being 5 ft 5 inches short and having a weak back. My husband and son are tall so I put their foods up high. I have a ton of spices and blends in my cabinets too.

I like your Latin music. I like your cute pantry. I am working on my walk-in pantry. I had a buffet built in several years ago I plan to use it as a breakfast bar area for a while. See how that goes. That will give me more counter space in the kitchen to use as a coffee bar area. It's just my husband and I but somehow things get cluttered. Maybe build an area for toaster oven, and toaster. Time for change.

I enjoyed this video. 🤦🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️ However, and I’m going to preach this til I die, so don’t feel bad; and I think it’s been taught to you--- I did not see one piece of TUPPERWARE in your bottom drawer. TUPPERWARE is a brand, like Rubbermaid, Snapware, or OXO etc. Us old timers are the only people who will even notice, your age group generally call any type of storage, or plastic bowls the same thing. It’s just a pet peeve of time, so I try where I can, to teach the younger generations. ❤️

I adore longer videos! It takes me first, a bit of time for the visual to motivate me to get up and move; and second, if I am going to work on organizing, I have already set up a reasonable amount of time to do so. Normally. I am stuck looking for several videos and then save them in a playlist and by the time I have all that set up, I feel like I have no time left to actually organize so, I put it off and well, I go in circles. This is exactly what I need and for most parts of a home. You just cut off about an hour of me waisting time (and let's face it, procrastinating), a BIG Thank You!

HELPFULL HINT. IN THE FRIDGE. On the door with the condiment storage caddy. LOL. You took EACH condiment out and Then you took the caddy off the door and cleaned it. LOL. Its made to come off so you can take ALL of them out at one time and close the door. iT WAS actually designed for you to put all the condimetns that go together in one caddy so when you , say, make sandwiches or burgers you take the whole caddy off the door with the mayo, mustard, ketchup, hot sauce, relsh and pickles all at one time and close the door fast. Hope this helps. i was one years old 10 years ago when someone laughed at me and told me how to use it properly. So much faster. Sooooooo much faster. Your Welcome my friend.

I prefer a refrigerator that has a pullout freezer on the bottom. Appliance Stores sell chest freezers and upright freezers. I prefer upright freezers, because it has shelves that can be organized by food items. Such as chicken can go on one shelf, beef can go on a different shelf, fish can go on a different shelf, vegetables can go on a different shelf, etc.

I buy my spices in bulk from the health food store and also Trader Joe’s. They are organic and so much less expensive to refill/replace. I soak the TJ labels off and can repurpose for other spices.

I liked that your video is long. When I'm looking for inspiration it's kind of annoying to have to search for multiple videos to get where I need to be mentally before I tackle a task. Only thing is it was a lot of talking, a little too much for my personal preference. Although your video is informative I'd like to be able to see more of the work being done and a little less talking... Just my opinion though. Overall great work. I just had to skip some parts to get to what I wanted to see. I'm a visual person though so that's probably why. A lot of talking makes me lose interest. Not judging by the way just sharing my opinion. You can take it or leave it, it's your channel at the end of the day. But if you'd like to take it into consideration, maybe you could put the camera on different items as you talk about them instead of it being on you while you explain. Just a thought.
