47:28 "I do not understand why people run Iron Will so religiously" I never take Iron Will off. A small part of it is to help with Nurse & Spirit but honestly, I don't see them very often in my games at all. I largely soloqueue, so finding reliable healing can be difficult. Iron Will helps make that not as much of an issue. But more important is how good Iron Will is during chase at getting you extra distance, or sometimes dropping the chase entirely. Or never getting found to be chased in the first place. It's also one of those perks that I didn't really understand before when I was only really playing Killer - because 9 times out of 10 that Iron Will works, the Killer will never notice that it does, that's the beauty of it. I cannot count how many times Iron Will has saved my ass by leaving a loop early and having the killer still mindgaming for another 3+ seconds, giving me enough time to escape. Something that even a deadhard or 99ed sprint burst couldn't have done. If you want a good video explaining this a bit better than I can, here's Scott talking about his view of the perk: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aYLHnmqYbqymq7s
@jamesvelazquez10043 жыл бұрын
Personally I use off the record if I’m going to be honest. It gives a build in iron will within 2 minutes after the hook twice so 4 minutes of iron will, and my aura won’t be read during it, within those 2 minutes I usually will already have been healed or healed myself by the end of it so I’ll be healthy after it which means no grunts of pain
@kellym91902 жыл бұрын
Well said! I don’t know how many times I got a sneaky flashlight save bc of the stealth it gave my injured behind. I feel so exposed without it being the cornerstone of my builds.
@MistressHorrors2 жыл бұрын
How are we fairing after the 75% debuff for Iron Will and it being disabled while exhausted? I still use it on all my builds, but now I've had to take off Sprint Burst or any exhaustion perks because I don't get any value. It's horrible. I'm so mad at this debuff lol
@Kurse_of_Kall2 жыл бұрын
@@MistressHorrors I said this in a few comments on other videos, but as expected: 75% injured noises is still pretty decent. On *most* survivors, you're quiet enough that with chase music the killer won't be able to hear you, and crouching/in a locker you are nearly silent outside of chase, (so they have to be close enough to the point where they can just follow your blood to find you anyways). The real nerf is absolutely the exhaustion thing. Iron Will is basically competing for the exhaustion perk slot now, which just feels awful. It's still good for extending chases and making stealth plays, (possibly even better in some cases because killers never expect it anymore), but having to compare its value to the likes of sprint burst or even reworked dead hard is pretty tough. I love the perk but new dead hard literally gives you an extra health state (when it works, which is admitedly not always).

It's more fun to give them passes because if you're in a position to do so, usually it's because you can tell the game is already in your favor. Giving leniency doesn't mean you're not in it to win, and if anything shows survivors that killers aren't necessary looking to demolish you, but looking to have fun. Worst case, telling survivors that they "should play to win," incentivises using overused builds and perks, and vise versa with killers. There is nothing wrong with showing a bit of kindness in the game. Killers know they don't "have" to be nice, we just like doing it. sometimes
