Gosh!!! As a Brazilian who's never seen or been in snowfall, and who is currently standing a 35C outdoor temp on a soggy morning, this was a great and invaluable video. It is so silent, calm, beautiful, and eerily respectful that I would be a bit scared of going out in the middle of the night! It looks like a white version of a nuclear fallout! Who knows one day I visit Helsinki and you in turn visit Rio during summertime. Sure you gonna find it interesting too! Cheers! Absolutely beautiful. I remember one of my favorite Christmas moments when my grandma and my parents were all together, the lights went out (blackout) and we had to light candles because it was snowing so heavily, after about 2 hours we had like 50 cm snow on the ground, it was magical :D. The 2nd scene was my favorite, because it reminded me of that evening~. Thanks for sharing it

It is curious to realize how many of you my fellow brothers try to explain to me what snow is and what it feels like, for I can only sense it in my imagination. I am very thankful to you all. However, as I read your comments, it feels like I'm reading different biographies of Snow without ever getting to meet her in person. I know, you may argue - how stupid of me not knowing such an ordinary thing as snow. But in my eyes, snow has always represented a metaphor for purity, harmonious symmetry, silence, calmness, and the wisdom of allowing our bare skin to be felt and struggling to be deciphered while silently falling in the dark. So much unlike tropical storms, that come from nowhere, which suddenly pelts our skin, soaks our bodies and clothes, and bares us naked to our true nature. Yet, both are beautiful in their own way in the same way humankind in its diversity. Our common ancestry is perhaps not in the color of our eyes and the fairness of our skin, but in our hearts to share the gift of being enthralled by the simple wonders of nature. That is our heritage. Happy New Year!

I know this comment is super old, but I think the best way to replicate the feeling of snow is by touching icy parts in a freezer. Snow is just softer, more loose and less sharp. The feeling of walking on fresh falling snow is similar to pressing a paper bag with starch. Imagine you’re walking on starch paper bags. When the snow is already melting, it feels like walking in cold mud puddles. Making snowballs with bare hands, just burns from the cold and feels a bit wet. I lose the rest of my sensation in my hands after a while. Similar to holding ice cubes for too long.

I think the best way to enjoy snow is at night or really early in the morning, in areas that weren’t disturbed by others. It’s less pleasant when it’s already trampled down. The air in winter feels and sounds different at night, too. So make sure to visit a quiet place. Winter nights feel so calm, clean, and peaceful. It feels isolating in a good way, like watching stars or listening to a thunderstorm at night.
