Brother, I would recommend you to read "Modern man In a Search of A soul" by Dr Carl G Jung, if you get as it is now not readily available . The book actually an argument for the rationale behind the stages of like something similar to that of our ancient vedic "Chaturashram Pratha". However for a "modern young reader" it will provide with the discussion of psychological needs for the stages of life for healthy childhood, healthy adulthood and constructive aging. Shankaracharya says in his commentry of bhagvadgita: Ekam sastram devaki putra gitam Eko devo devaki putra eva Eko mantras tasya namani yani Karmapy ekam tasya devasya seva (Gita Mahatmya) The only one book or sastra is Bhagavad Gita.
