This is a decent quality device for people who want precision checking and balancing of their battery packs. It can measure, discharge and balance Lipoly packs up to 6S.

I set the limits these balancers to stop at 4.10 to even out all cells. But it never stops it keeps discharging. So don't leave these unattended they never stop discharging

moded mine to do 1amp ballance swaped the smt load resistors out for a big single 1w metal oxide resistor

Just storage mode. It balances the cells while it's doing it

Does this have the other connection on the top where you can connect the extra load block with connects to the main charge leads of the battery i.e. the kit with the three halogen bulbs. Is this kit available separately for this. 420ma discharge rate is not much as standard.

This video was full of errors the battery with 3 3.77 reading can not be brought up to the 3.8 or whatever target setting without putting it on a charger in balance mode first. The unit can balance the internal cells to whatever the average of what is being read out on the meter only.

@@RCTanksTrucks247 Think about it. The little balancer unit doesn't have a power supply, it uses excess voltage from cells that are higher to raise the lower one. Thats how the balance works.

You never discharge a lipo down to zero. You will damage the cells. Storage mode around 3.8v is ideal

what is the JST connector for?

I just bought one, but the instructions say it needs 7.4 volts from a battery to be in the JST port for it to work. I tried that and it started to smoke, so I'm really not sure. The instruction booklet I had was awfully translated from Chinese :(
