What do you do for music? I am interested in shooting videos for clients, short-film projects, and KZbin but am concerned about music rights/royalties etc. Do you use a specific site for free music or make it yourself?

Aaaaaand I should have picked up a couple foam boards in addition to the regular poster boards. I had considered them while waffling in the aisle at Walmart, but after seeing two seconds of your video and trying the flimsy kind the night before--a couple bucks for convenience and more control over where the light bounces is worth it! Better late than never! Thanks for tips, Daniel!!!

How did I never see this after watching so much of your stuff? lol That reverse focus one (the last one) is one I started using last year. I do cosplay tutorials and at the end of the how-to section, I take cinematic footage of the piece. The ending to that is the 2nd to last clip fading to, or panning to, black, then pull from the black backdrop for the last clip, to get the "hero shot". In that last shot, I have the camera focused on the subject, and push into the backdrop, then reverse it in post, just as you mentioned. It's such a good trick.

@danielschiffer

sonjondg best way to do it with that lens is to focus on your subject using af-c and then switching to mf once it’s in focus. The technique will still work but I might be more tricky with a tighter focal length like that.
