I’m a freshman studying CS and I’ve been able to secure two internships for this summer and my biggest advice is to apply and always be on the lookout for internships from the beginning of the year. You’d be surprised how many internships open their applications right at the beginning of the year so be prepared to apply even if you don’t feel qualified! Also network!!! I cannot stress this enough, joining clubs and making friends with other CS students is crucial!! And know that it’s okay if you don’t get an internship, don’t be discouraged! Use it as motivation :) And I definitely agree, it’s so important to have a good resume! This is why having people who can review it and provide feedback is important

@pangrey89312 жыл бұрын
@@luka9458 you realize this is a fairytale for most people, "just try really hard" yeah that's now how life is most of the time. You realize most people in colleges don't even get internships in the first place during college, instead getting new grad as their first. And thousands of you are hoping to get 3 high tier internships within freshman year. That won't happen unless you've been dedicated to it since high school and are good at it. Maybe a few people watching this video will succeed but the reality is almost of the people who will try won't succeed. And that's okay! You don't need a big internship on your first year, you can get a normal internship later down the road. Just don't be disappointed you're not in the top 0.01 percent achievers
@phantomstranger11252 жыл бұрын
@@pangrey8931 Most people don't get internships because most people are stupid and lazy. A lot of it really is just putting the effort into both networking and honing your skills.

Whatever you say, can't wait to hear about all of you in the comments getting 3 high tier internships in first year :)
@dirtybaystrangler2 жыл бұрын
@@pangrey8931 I agree with you. A ton of these types of videos do not apply to most people. However, their heads are in the clouds until it all comes crashing down for them after they've graduated. Most people will go through college without one single internship. Not only is this young man exceptional, but people fail to realize that a great deal of intangibles go in to receiving these offers. Nothing to me is funnier than people trying to deny that luck is a real thing. A real thing that most people just don't have. Besides, just shoot for one internship your Junior year, that is all any of them really need.

Some people get accepted on their first attempts every time, some never get accepted and have to send hundreds of applications to even get an offer. And the others aren't less qualified. It's something else that they're not saying why.

What are the prerequisites to start learning how to do leetcode problems? If I have 2 weeks of Java knowledge is that enough to start grind 75? Also, were the internship interviews easy and medium leetcode problems?
@allenye662 жыл бұрын
2 weeks is enough imo, as long as you are familiar with the syntax and the basic objects (hashset, stack, queue, etc). The internship interviews were mainly mediums with a lot of dfs
@hassansyed60879 ай бұрын
2 weeks of Java knowledge is not even remotely enough. You need to learn the programming language of your choice in such depth that you're able to understand what is required in which context. It's different for everybody but if you have never been exposed to a programming language in your life, 2 weeks is barely enough to learn what a constructor function does
