I have a question though not directly related to this session but very well connected to the knowledge of Brahman. If Brahman is equal to consciousness then even consciousness is eternal, however in the recent studies of consciousness and also what the neurosciences claims is that consciousness is produce-able . If that is the case anything which is produce-able is also destroy-able , and if this can be some day proved, then what will be the stand of our Shrutis and Smritis (Scriptures)?
@nilayanmajumdar9174Ай бұрын
Source for said studies of consciousness being produceable? Pretty sure you're misunderstanding the thing. I guess what you're talking about is intelligence, not consciousness. Yes, intelligence can be produced, it is not divine. But no scientist has ever claimed that any of these systems is conscious. Being conscious means first person experience. If such a discovery is made is would've been breaking news and all over internet and a Nobel prize would be given.
@drjibankumarsarkarАй бұрын
Consciousness is the non-dual Reality ( " One without a second " , purnam ), the pure subject -- the Highest Truth, hence any chance of production ( artificially ) will be automatically illogical.

Swamiji I'm unable to connect with brahman because of physical suffering ..how to not feel affected by physical pains
@nilayanmajumdar9174Ай бұрын
At times of suffering, turn to ishwara instead of philosophy. Vivekananda said that love of God in times of trouble and the grounding of the self at times of happiness will keep the mind balanced.

Can scientist develop channel of chidabhas for these machines for self awareness as channels to body and mind?

part 3 : i was pondering about the falsity of the world and swami coincidentally starts with this very topic, he says eventually one shall realise everything is brahman, so the world too is brahman, falsity of the world is just used as a tool to enquire into the brahman. - shankaracharya writes 2 pages about 2 words in the first mantra, ishikam, ish has many meanings (i) to repeat (ii) to go or reach (iii) desire, here it is (iii). prashitam means directed or commanded. shankara extensively concludes through word logic that there is no commander up there that is operating the mind, so those types of questions are put to rest. an opponent comes out spewing the common sense interpretation of the stanza but shankara denies that saying the questioner is not a normal one, he is dispassionate about material world and seeks to enquire into the eternal. shankara says be serious about the question, it has much more depth to it rather than the common sense interpretation. then the opponent argues why are these two words are used when ishikam was sufficient, shankara answers saying that prashitam is used by the questioner to make it clear that this body and mind are a jada and he wants to this distinction clear and point this out. shankara ultimately prepares us the readers saying that there is this possibility of something non-material i.e conciousness. - now we shall see what's the answer to the question posed in stanza 1, why didn't the guru in the upanishad just answer with the word 'atman' or 'brahman'? because saying just atman (you) to that questioner who has known that he is not body and mind wouldn't merely do justice, yes the answer is atman and the student knows the answer too but he still questions right.. so the guru gave this answer, this conciousness is distinct from the eyes, the ears etc but guru also establishes that it is intimately connected with the senses just like in the fan itself the electricity is there, if you remove the fan, there is no electricity flowing in the fan, there is nothing to show. but electricity is not affected when the fan is gone, dheera realises this and becomes immortal right when he realises and after the death of the body.

If mind is a machine,senses and consciousness is shining through them then why can't consciousness shine though mechanical machine too? If God wants mechanical machines to be conscious, have first person experience. It is after all part of Prakriti. Can we not make a machine like mind that reflect consciousness? Thank you Swamiji.
