I understand charging what youre worth but if you're charging more than what your projected clientele can afford then youre shooting yourself in the foot. Not to mention you can have skill but if youre doing shit out ya home with out a professional set up in the home then humble ya self and ya prices. To save time couldn’t you just do a regular cornrow braid instead if the feed in braiding for the row at the bottom? Provided it’s flat and not bulky of course. No one sees it anyway 🤷🏾‍♀️

Generalized Question: when did ppl hike the prices of braids ? All my life braids have been between $50-$85 dollars i don’t know if it’s the influence of social media or what but i will never pay 100+ for box braids.

Ni Ni personally I charge for my time and labor. If it takes me 8-12 hours to do some braids I’m going to charge for those hours. People go to work and get paid so it the same with doing hair

Y’all I got a question.... What the heck is the issue with stylist not being happy if you moisturized your hair/scalp before you get your hair braided. Like...yes pretty hair, but my real hair needs to have care before she gets locked into syntheticness... Why would you want pretty style but you want me to have dry and possibly damaged hair when I do a takedown.... As I’m bout to get these and I really don’t wanna hear any “no product.” Like huh? And I ask why “it makes it harder if..” like que? She’s the first person I’ve seen in a while who actually moisturized her client hair

As a stylist, I prefer that the hair is dry before you sit in my chair. I will moisturize the scalp and so on while I do the hair. Why? Personally, I have mildly sweaty palms, and so for you to put too much grease and other product in your hair it makes it harder to grip the hair. And that adds to the time because I would have to keep drying my hands. I don't know why for the next person.
