Leopards are very fortunate to be such agile climbers otherwise they would have their food stolen from them a lot more often from lions and hyenas and its really not ideal to risk injury or worse for a solitary cat like a leopard that needs to hunt or indeed for a mother leopard with cubs to feed any sort of injury would be catastrophic so they aren't nearly as vulnerable as a cheetah is for example who's only advantage is its speed

My first encounter on safari was unforgettable. A half an hour from arriving @ Lion Sands in Kruger, SA, we were in the truck with the guides and seeing almost this same scene, but a single leopard was stalking a hyena mere yards from our vehicle. My wife, son and I were not prepared for such an intimate a life/death scene and were completely in awe. So amazing to experience and each safari after was even more stunning and the trip was well worth the price.
