Go, Rob! These licks sound great! I play classical guitar as well, and these kinda have a Spanish sound to them. They'll sound good on that, too. I learn easily by ear, and though I know I should work harder on reading music, there's only so many hours in a day, so I can put that off. (At least that's what I tell myself.) Thanks, as usual. You seem to have an endless supply of sophisticated sounding links for me to learn to play, lol! Wow, that last lick takes just a bit of practice to get it to sound like you do...! But I'll be practicing...!

Rob, there's a guitar solo that I hope you'll consider teaching. It's the guitar solo in Rod Stewart's The First Cut Is The Deepest that came out in the 70's. It's really cool!

Beautiful licks. Agile fingers across the fretboard. I can say my fingers are not at this level (age/arthritis) but still I enjoy all your lessons. I look forward to them particularly the blues licks and so forth. Thank you Rob! 🎶🎶🎶
@swiftlessons Жыл бұрын
Thanks Nicole. Arthritis and trigger fingers are both killers… my hands are so beat up, there’s hardly a moment that I don’t have pain, especially when playing. I’ve managed to maintain most of my mobility through daily therapy, but I’ve definitely slowed down. That’s why I like these melodic licks, it’s more about more choices than speed.

Thanks, Rob! There's so many things I need to practice that I haven't been practicing licks (v.g. I'm learning the solo from "Something" from your lesson)... but these licks are so melodic that they make me wanna learn them (and all the theory behind them). Btw, it's very useful to know what's happening behind the lick itself, tks for that too. The first lick sounds quite "Latino" to me... like flamenco or stg... am I wrong? Tks again!!
@swiftlessons Жыл бұрын
Glad these licks are exciting to you. Yes, there’s definitely a bit of Spanish or flamenco infusion happening there. Thanks so much for taking the time to comment, a little positive feedback as long way. -Rob
