@@sethrenville798 I'm starting to question what I got myself into here. I'm enjoying learning drums but damn it's not easy. Maybe I'm getting ahead of myself but I'm currently working on an off beat kick placement. 8th notes HH, snare on 2+4 and kick on 1, the A of 2 and 3. I can kinda do it but my hand falls behind it feels like. It's almost like that double kick happens too fast if that makes sense.

​​@@lobbyrobby Slow it down a little, make sure you get everything perfect. Then work up to normal speed. Once you get the hang of it, muscle memory takes over. I've only been drumming for 2 years and I struggled a lot and wondered the same thing you mentioned until I had a breakthrough moment. Then it felt like my heart opened up and my hands were suddenly connected to my body better than before! Don't know how to describe it, maybe it'll be different for you, but keep working at it and breakthrough will come.

@@capnbingbong7833 I kinda had a breakthrough myself last night. When trying to get that quick kick in I kinda changed how my foot comes down on the first beat. It really helps me separate the 2 kicks. I still can't do it will any speed but that'll come with due time.
