Ive been knocked out from pressure points many times in training. What i don’t understand is a lot of people think they are fake or you are faking it for the person. I have felt it first hand and have executed the strikes or joint locks first hand and it is not fake at all. I loved this sort of martial art and wish i could still train today.

@ I’ve used pressure points and joint locks many times in confrontations. This is what people like yourself don’t understand, I don’t let a confrontation turn into a fight. If you front me or try to shove me and I get my hands on you it’s over, I don’t give you a chance to fight. There’s always a chance for a straight up sucker punch and that may be difficult if you don’t pay attention to your surroundings, it’s called situational awareness. I usually know you are planning to hit me and I don’t give you the chance to swing.

Totally agree. Even one seasonnin a good club, and can knock out most thugs, if you time it right. best to be able to run 100 in ten flat, though. Am now 79 in decent shape, still can pull it off if i have to. 85% of power still there for short 'session'

demos are one thing,slow motion,no adrenelin, in a fighting stance it took me months to achieve pressure points effectively. because i had to relearn how i react to an aggression of an attacker, i had to become fluid muscles not contracted but relaxed. good luck good instruction makes all the difference. they all were good teachers, for myself the last instructor was right with m. the simple phrase he made" you make a point with[ fingers knuckle] was the most nessesary and of course the pressure [points] thanking all of these 3 men, good informative basic lessons to begin practise practise practise......

You're showing hitting pressure points, Kyusho, which is called 'Sappo' in Koryu (old schools), but you don't apply or show 'Katsu', or healing technique on the pressure point hit, which is called 'Kappo'. These kind of techniques are taught in Koryu, meaning ancient school of martial techniques. Be careful before using these dangerous techniques. And learn healing jutsu on kyusho.

my teacher had his adam apple broken in a fight. imagine the duration of pain and recovery. these techniques are combat exercises. not public barroom fighting unless was as instructed by the first teacher,a broken beer bottle weapon. this is the most important to remember " to react with first analysing the pressure. this requires the same duration of practise as when after beginning to drive your car how fast to react to emergency braking without thinking. bruce lee called this "effortless effort" good luck but keep on it

The problem with pressure points is that they can become ineffective when your opponents adrenaline is pumping.
@FightFast
@FightFast Жыл бұрын
Adrenaline does not make these nerves strikes less effective. They are not pain compliance techniques. Sending a huge impulse into those nerves is one of the ways to achieve a knockout. Those types of knockouts occur all the time in real fights. The other type of non-choking knock out is a Coup-Contrecoup injury to the brain. All fights happen under an adrenaline dump. That does not prevent knockouts generated by shock to the nervous system.

If a specific technique does not work, you move on to your next target and technique. That's kind of obvious I think. Your criticism is like saying "show what happens if your first punch doesn't knock a guy out" to a guy trying to teach you to throw a punch... You still have to learn individual techniques.
@ClydeHUC

But they mostly are if you strike corractually period and of course, there's always any number of other moves. After that, as always as the case period something undiscussed usually is. What about a person really high on drugs? I don't like submission holds. I don't like being that close to people. And as a former wrestler, that sounds ridiculous, but it's really dangerous. Engaging someone physically like that. I would rather strike and strike again. Why I like wing Chun? And why like krav Maga also I'm just gonna hit, I don't want to be your best friend holding you. I'm not in the choke outs, just not down with it. It's too dangerous for me, I'm an old man. But face it, any neck chop is an extremely effective. And also for the victim who made themselves a victim, a very dangerous situation. Well they shouldn't have played stupid games

2). The guy in the bar with blue/black striped shirt, he demonstrates the/a tehnique of taking the arm/hand and twisting opponents left limb counter clockwise (from bouncers perspective). This is good control but rather than going for the semi complex wrist lock one can either make the person bend over with little pressure to the elbow, allowing for kicks/knees to the body & face, or you can bring their arm behind them (common police tactic) to gain good rear position and allow access to a choke (commonly rear naked choke). but get that arm and so many possibilities open up.

Dude just gives an advice how to damage his thumb. Buddy, in real fight everything will be so fast, plus an opponent moving his head, you will hit his jaw with that awkward slappy strike and will have to continue to fight with one hand. Watch less Hollywood movies or what. No one hits like that in real life.

At around 3 minutes ... well, actually for all of these, you are coming in to his left hand side of the neck. I know this is probably a dumb question, so sorry. I'm left handed so everything that seems natural to what you are doing, will only be natural if I am going for the right hand side of his neck. My question is ... Do those actions work just as well on the right side of his neck as they seem to be working on the left side of his neck. Sorry for being so dumb on this stuff

This guy must've seen this in a video and thought "I'm gonna do that too" because he has no idea of what he's doing. How this actually works is by means of a 'karate chop' move targeting the main artery. Cutting off the bloodstream for a split second cuts off the oxygen supply to the brain, making the opponent pass out (something that doesn't happen here). This guy is more likely to tear the other guy's artery if he's not careful. PS this only works on someone's left side of if the neck (the receiver's left, as shown here). In the right side artery the blood flows down.

I think this can work on everybody. Where I agree with you, is that executing it well is probably very hard, with the agitation, maybe fear, movement etc, you need to be incredibly precise so it requires a grat amount of practice. However if you do land it well and with power (which again, it's very hard), you end that fight.
