Using retinol or tretinoin every other day or every three days is a great starting point. Building up a tolerance means managing a slow purge of impurities versus a massive purge of breakouts is ideal. Slow and steady is a good approach 👍🏼

I have learned Salicylic Acid acid a cleanser is not for me. First of all SA needs to sit on skin to work. It doesn’t sit on skin when you wash. Better to use a gentle no fragrance cleanser then use SA as a toner or treatment.

Maybe the salicylic acid cleanser thing depends on the individual? My derma recommended me to cleanse twice a day with the SA cleanser, this was in 2016, and I've been doing it ever since with no problems on my face. I understand how it could dry up many people's skin though, maybe mine is just THAT oily 😅

Better choose only one active ingredient, don't over layer too many actives or it can make your skin barrier thinner and get easily breakouts. Or if you want to layer more actives, do it like only twice or third a week, not everyday.

​@@TheDevilDarling I'm no expert but I know benzyl peroxide is a very strong ingredient as I was prescribed the gel when I had severe acne then got the cleanser much later over the counter. Yes it clears up, dead skin cells peeled off but is also extremely dry and can strip the skin. Once you see its done the job, stop. Or so that there's still in control of acne, use it less times a week

2% is probably too harsh if your new to salicylic acid, try using 1% or less and use it 2x a week first then gradually increase when you're skin tolerates it

just dont use it in the morning. or just use it whenever youre the most oily. for me i have a very stripping cleanser that combats my acne well but i use it right after school. but i use toners/antibacterial pads in the morning that dont dry my skin. really up to u how to schedule it! mainly just about just using it once a day

Just wash your with warm water or soft warm towel in the morning. cleansing once per day is enough unless your skin very oily then find another gentle cleanser like cearve cetaphil or vanicream gentle cleanser or la roch posay purify foam cleanser. i only use active cleanser like salycilic acid 2 or 3 times per week and leave it on face a few minute before rince off

Salicycd acid may be good for your skin but not too often. I am using once a week, but you can use 2-4. Using acid every day can damaged your skin
