Gotta love those contrasts. I did a white tau army for a friend and layer shaded it some years back. That was an immense pain in the arse which I had vowed never to do again. This looks like its bringing the joy back to painting white which is awesome. 👍 (P.s. I still have a Saint Celestine that needs doing. I wanted a bit of a different paint scheme which looked more angelic. Looking at this video, white might be the way to go. Thanks for the inspiration.)

Here's the method I came up with for painting my stormtroopers: Prime with grey seer Zenithal highlight from 45° and up with a pure white, preferably with an airbrush(if you're going to be painting a lot of white I cannot stress enough how much easier an airbrush will make your life). Paint all over with apothecary white. Zenithal highlight again with a pure white from 90° directly over the mini. Go back with apothecary white and use it as a panel liner on any upward facing recesses that got blown out by the last zenithal highlight. Use a pure white and a brush anywhere you want a sharper edge highlight, such as on pauldron details, bicep plates, and ridges on the thighs/arms.

I like that method! I do wish i had some Grey Seer at the time of recording this. I have since got a pot and it is awesome and i think would've helped add another layer of depth to these minis. I do think trying an airbrush method would also be a good idea!

I've been looking at easy white options since I ordered the 501st box, Sadly I only have gdub options so I don't think any of yours will work for me, I have thought about undercoating white, Mixing nuln with lahmia medium to make a glaze then touch up the white with ulthuan or white scar as needed, Other than that I am kinda stumped, I have apothecary white but my results in the past with it have not been good, It always seemed to dry too grey for me ;/

Just remember you can mix some white with Apoth white to lighten it or clean up in the mini with white after you apply it. Could also thin down the apoth white and put it in the recesses only. Good luck!

My method is a white primer apothecary white contrast then a white scar dry brush
