Nice video as always my man! I saw the words simple and chops in blue bold letters and was immediately sucked in 😜 In all seriousness, always love your stuff. I’m currently trying to work on keeping my ghost notes down when chopping. Makes all the difference in the difference in the world in terms of sound. Just really tough to keep em low and consistent when you get to playing fast.

In my opinion, after a lot of time practicing this instrument, chops are easy, sticking is easy... the real deal is what dynamics you decide to make use of and obviously when. Chops and sticking is about learning them slowly, get the coordination on point, increase their speed and that's it, after a while, you have the muscle memory needed. But dynamics, oh my, that's what makes you start getting money in your pockets.

Exactly! It's all about practice ^^

Hi CJ...I am a member of your channel. However, I cannot see the musical transcripts. Can you please explain how to view the music so I can print the music out? thanks.

Hey Chris! If you go to the ‘community tab’ here on my KZbin channel, you’ll find “members only-posts” where I link the Google Drive links to a downloadable zip file, containing the transcripts and audio files! 😃 Let me know if you need more help!

Sorry my friend, chops is not a fill it is the ability to play that fill. A drummer who has great chops shows it in their fills or phrasing. Fills are what you learn through lessons, by ear or watching someone else play. Still playing at 75 with 63 years experience and still shedding. ✌️
@ThatSwedishDrummer5 ай бұрын
Yeah, and chops can mean several things. Just as if you say "That singer really got some chops", would usually mean that singer is versatile and can sing in a wide range and with different techniques. Same goes for drummers, but chops are also referred to what I mention in the video (repeated musical phrasings around the drums). 😊
