Our house burned down way back. Its a total loss everything was turned to ash. My moms cabinet has a pboto of Saint John Paul 2. That photo was only singed on the side (very minimal damage). Thats the only thing we salvaged from that fire. We still have that photo.

Actually, he was able to confess and take Communion about an hour before he died, so it's extremely likely that we will see him in heaven. At least pray for his soul, even if you do not feel he was a saint.

the 3rd miracle should not count as miracle in favor of his canonization because required miracles should be thru the candidate (sainthood) intercession not a miracle for personal favor. The canonization process of PJPII skipped the traditional canonical process, for instance, there was no 'Devil's advocate' appointed to present evidence why a candidate for canonization does not deserve it. Moreover, PJPII did not consecrate Russia per our Lady of Fatima's request and did not read publicly the 3rd secret of Fatima. Fr. Amorth (an exorcist) present during that incident of Consecration of the World to the immaculate heart, testified that PJPII was dissuaded by some clergy deterred him to consecrate Russia specifically. He obeyed the clergy rather than the mother of God. He also welcomed and even pagan rituals in the vatican, this is idolatry, number one commandment of God; because of him, Pope Francis opened wider the Vatican door to more idols like the pachamama idols, and in the name of ecumenism made pacts with other religious leaders; recently, he commented that Luther was right, a statue of luther now in the vatican. Saint or not, I respect PJPII as Pope, and I commend him to the blessed mother for mercy for his soul.

Pope St. JP II certainly made some mistakes, and the Modernists currently in the Vatican have gone absolutely bonkers. But read JPII's "Veritatis Splendor" sometime, an encyclical he wrote to push back on the moral errors coming from abuse of Vatican II. He also gave us the Catechism of the Catholic Church, which is extremely valuable in holding back the flood of heresies coming out of Rome. Not all of us knew the treasure we had in JPII.

Catholics do not worship statues, any more than you worship a picture of a family member on your wall. Mary is a human being who is a saint, a friend of God. We honor friends of God, but don't worship them. When miracles happen, like when St. Peter cured the crippled man outside the temple, it is God who performs the work. Jesus' disciples cured many in Jesus name, they didn't claim to personally have the power to heal.
