There is no BS here. Just real focused kicking to areas that will destroy the opponents foundation. Take away their ability to stand, how can they continue. Close range and fast direct strikes. SiFu Lam is a great teacher for showing this slowly and clearly how and where to hit. Imagine if he'd use his full power or just lean a bit more weight into that kick. Respect

That is similar to Ashi Barai in Judo. The only difference is Judo focuses on the throw, and Wing Chun focuses on breaking the opponent's knees.😜 kzbin.info/www/bejne/anO4hqmnrc6Sgc0

My Sifu trained under WSL and he showed me pictures old where WSL was wearing similar old school adidas clothes as GL. Funny.

Yeah, they all love Adidas.

5 kicks? (0:21) - I count 4.(1 sidekick, 1 lowkick, 2 different front kicks) ??
@GaryLamWingChunKungFu6 ай бұрын
It's the last three kicks after the huen sau section of the dummy form.
@AnoDomini-u5f6 ай бұрын
@@GaryLamWingChunKungFu At the end? I did not misunderstood you? These last three which are shown by GL here are not in the original WSLVT form, but GL did put them back.. So if I count, i get either 4 (original) or 7 kicks (original of the original). The amount of moves in the WD does not matter anyways. what matters is whether the form shows as much as nesserary and as less as possible. 3 kicks more or less - hm... could these ideas not be already inside, that is what I personally would think about. So its an inspiration. Its always interesting to see other peoples personal changings in the linneage and then to ponder about. In my humble opinion: as a result of own training everybody does it different every now and then and ads to it and changes orders anyways. Sometimes that becomes a heritage.

4:42 It was a delight to see Sifu Gary teach us the higher level sets in real time with a partner and MOOK JONG to go with it. That sequence from set 7 I believe, I honestly didn’t go that far yet, but it starts with DI BONG DI BONG DI BONG and open hand reaches Loy inside and hits. The jkd people seem to like that because I saw Jerry Poteet’s wife and himself using the FUNG HAO and inside hits like that. Jerry in particular was using it in his personal deflection routines. Ya, that material came naturally to me, because I found myself wanting to cover or parry, and kick out the other leg on the opponent. Glad to see that’s the right way from the teacher.” 🀄️💯💥😎#garylamwingchun
Portrait mode is best angle for film kicks, if on a mobile, as you capture the hands and feet in one - no need to play catch up with the missed action of the hands / or feet.

Thanks for the advice, but this was not shot on a cell phone, as a cell phone lacked the needed versatility of an ENG camera.

If you're serious about the seminar, make an offer that covers travel expenses and the seminar fee, and we'll go from there.

I learned the kicks in the Jong, but not in that format. That looked like three separate sections combined.
@GaryLamWingChunKungFu7 ай бұрын
It's all from the final section of the Yip Man form.
