So glad you are feeling so strong and well! I'm so happy! Yay for an unplanned (rare) M & M treat with no issues. The hair loss is hard but it goes in stages. My hair fell out badly at first. It got worse before it got better. However, it started regrowing like crazy about two years after. It was going well until the usual aging/perimenopause stuff so it seems to be thinning a little, but not due to the gastrectomy at least. However, I find helpful biotin, calcium, and scalp massages. (Tried many serums, but upping my calcium intake helped the most). Hydration, clean eating and protein shakes are key! You're doing amazing!

Thank you for the hair tips. Makes me feel better knowing you regained your hair after some time. I’m headed into premenopause also 😵💫 There is always something. You inspire me with your journey. So happy to have connected with you. ❤️Polly

I just had my gastromectomy two weeks ago. I wanted to include protein shakes in am. Can u share ur recipes for best post shakes to avoid andy sugars or carbohydrates to the shake. I totally appreciate your help!

Hi Katie. I prefer to make my own shakes at home rather than buying from the store. They just sit better with me. Keep in mind every Stomachless person is different and what works for me may not work for you. I typically add milk, cottage cheese, green yogurt, protein powder, maybe some nuts of some kind, banana and a frozen fruit. If not sweet enough I add a date or two. Usually 50-80g of protein. Not sure about carbs. You can use a food diary app ie: Cronometer to insert your ingredients to see where you need to make adjustments for your own needs. Hope your recovery is going well. ❤️🙏🏻

the information about your state of health is comforting. Polly, do you also do exercises by doing planks for example? Can you do them? Are they recommended? And if so, how long after the gastrectomy?

Hi Bob, I do do them. Planks, pushups, sit-ups, pull-ups. I don't think my Dr recommends it though. For the first couple months when I worked out I avoided using my stomach muscles. Then at 10 weeks I began to use them but wore an abdominal binder with pressure applied to my incision. I am no longer doing this. I guess you could say I'm taking a risk in doing these exercises but I definitely do them with caution. My Dr didn't want me working out until 10 weeks :-/... Im not a very good listener. ;-D Hopefully I don't get a hernia. That would be horrible.
