Emrys couldn't have such another amazing mother than you Michele. Your dedication to her is evident in the progress she is making and her bond to you is lovely to see unfold over the time Emrys has been with you. Your frankness and honesty is refreshing and none of your videos feel staged like I have found with other post-adoption vlogs. Keep up the good work! Keep safe.

Thank you so much! I honestly feel the same about most post-adoption vlogs which isn't helpful for those adopting because it's not easy. No one has a magical experience all the time and I feel we need to be truthful to others, and ourselves, in order for people who are considering adoption to understand it's not always easy. Also for me, when I was struggling with bonding to her after trip one I felt so alone. Everyone talks about the sunshine and rainbows instant connection when really that's not common. If more people were actually honestly about their experience there would be fewer parents that felt alone when things weren't going well.

@@SimplyMicheleLynn I've often found myself wondering why most post-adoption vlogs never spoke about the hard stuff, how the parent/s copes with sleeplessness, tantrums, bonding, feeding etc. Everything was as you described, sunshine and rainbows and what a difference to the adopted child's life to have so many new experiences instead of being in an orphanage or foster home. I often see by the body language between an adopted child and their parent/s that there is little physical or emotional bonding going on and it's heartbreaking to watch. I think what you are doing is just inspirational and anybody wanting to adopt a young child like Emrys should watch your videos if they want honesty and sincerity about how life really is or can be like. I stopped following some post adoption blogs as I found their videos verging almost on the fake side. Too scripted, edited and staged for my liking. Often the focus was on the parent/s or their other children and not that of the adopted child's. Anyway, I've gone on long enough now lol. Keep up the good work with Emrys and keep safe.

It’s so invaluable for her to have a trauma informed mother 💝

Does she ever have exposure to other children close to her age? Not to force play but just to observe and perhaps be curious.

Unfortunately because of covid there are no groups running that would allow this. I've been asked by multiple doctors how she interacts with other children but I honestly don't know because we haven't had a chance to go to playgroups.
