Hey🙋🏼♀️ were you travelling with friends or have you made new friendships there? Was the flight to Hawaii and back to your homecountry included? Have you rent there a car and what was the price? 😊 thank you for answering the questions 🤗🤗

Nice video! I'm considering to go to Hawaii with EF as well... and your videos take away all my doubts!! I read in the comments that you planned the extra trips. Are there by any chance also trips/activities that are included in the price? Someone from EF told me that today, but maybe that's about more specific activities? Did you stay in a host family? If so, is it possible to do all these extra trips? :D Sorry for all my questions! I'd just love to hear someone's experience! Thank you!
@kimcorpataux13586 жыл бұрын
Hélène Neirynck hello! :) thanks for the compliments, I really appreciate them. Yes, there are some small acitivities which are included in the price, for example sunset walks at Lanikai Beach with breakfast or Ukulele courses :) but all bigger activities are not free, so you have to pay them :) even the surfcourse which you can visit at the school costs because of the equipment you're allowed to use or bbqs at the beach (where you need to pay the food of course). No, I didn't stay in a hostfamily, I was at the hub (the residence). I think it depends on the family you'll have and also on the age :) but I guesd you won't have problems taking part in thr activities because that's what you're there for.. to get to know the country, the culture and thr language and you'll only get to know this by interacting :) maybe you'll have a carfew in your hostfamily. That's the rule when to be at home in the evenings :-) but maybe not.. it varies from family to family. Have a nice time and enjoy it!

Thank you for your help! Would you recommend staying there for 6-9 months, or less? I'm still choosing between programs. I'd also love to do the multi language option, where I can go to three countries. But I think that'll be too much money for me, since I'll be paying most of it myself. Would you recommend the host family or the hub? If I go to Hawaii, my goal is to see and experience as much as possible! I love my freedom, so do you think the hub will be better then? Thank you!!
@kimcorpataux13586 жыл бұрын
Hélène Neirynck I definitely recommend not to stay more than 3 months. Many ppl who go to Hawaii only stay some weeks because the living costs are high, so a lot of friends you'll make over there will go earlier :) in case you're doing a specific certification you can stay longer if you need to practice your english (Advanced Certificate for example) but if you're not going because of that you should stay up to 3 months but not more. It'll get boring from time to time :) And regarding the freedom you like.. go to the hub for sure. Most of the families live outside of the city so it'll take you up to 1.5 hours to get to the centre or the school which won't allow you to stay out long at the evenings because the buses don't drive all night long ;) I can't tell you more about the multilangual trip because I didn't chose it but maybr you can find someone at the EF office in your country who did it :-)

And all the trips you did where plan by EF ? or not?
@kimcorpataux13586 жыл бұрын
Yngrvben no they weren't :) because most activities with EF are too expensive compared to official organisations :)
@rvbennoel6 жыл бұрын
TraValery And how do you do it....Do you rent a car? By the way how old are you?
@kimcorpataux13586 жыл бұрын
Yngrvben yes, mostly I rented a car - especially on other islands than Oahu. On Oahu you can do a lot by bus as well :-) it's cheap but it takes a long time to explore the island of course. I am 23 :-) there is no problem about beeing younger than 21 (in case you're asking because of that), but you can't rent a car & they are really strict with parties, clubs & alcohol in general... :-) but Hawaii isn't a partydestination anyway, people go to the beach to make bbq's, they rarely go to a club ;-) so don't worry!
@rvbennoel6 жыл бұрын
TraValery AND the last question 😂 How you explored the other islands ?
@iceboy555556 жыл бұрын
We used to go there by plane as it cost 130$ both ways. Then we rent an airbnb together as a group and most times 2 cars. via alamo or whatever you prefer(we rent it via billigermietwagen, because it was about 50% cheaper)

didn't u get bored being 3 months on a island or not?
@sukkerfrigajol906 жыл бұрын
Hi TraValery. Amazing video, i really liked it! I'm thinking about traveling to Hawaii with EF in 3-6 months (haven't really decided how long yet), just like you. I would like yo ask you: How is the environment there? How was the school, and was it easy to plan trips etc? I also have serious doubts about whether i should stay at the EF "college" or in a host family. Looking forward to hear from you. Cheers, Joel :)
@kimcorpataux13586 жыл бұрын
Joel Mads Christensen hey Joel :) thank you so much! :) it was an awesome time. The environment there is amazing, especially the school building :) it's not really big so it's like family feeling because everyone knows each other :) If you consider to stay 6 months I would recommend yoj staying in a host family because you'll learn much more.. of the language & the culture and everything.. but as I see you're already good in English so It's also fine to stay at the hub (that's the name of the campus). It's cool there because you're free and you can do whatever you want whenever you want.. Apart from that it is really close to the center whereas most of the host fams are in the rural part of Honolulu.. so it will take you up to 1.5 hours to commute to school.. which also means going out is difficult because of the busses.. What I also not recommend you is staying more than 4 months.. Hawaii is pretty expensive (especially the living costs) so It' better to stay less but do more :) most of the students stay don't stay more than 12 weeks.. only younger ones (under 19) who are doing this highschool thing :) but I think 3 months will do good ;) I'm jealous! Would want to stay there forever :) have a nice time!

witch is worth more, the EF school or ELS center? in aspects of friendship and easier to meet people
@kimcorpataux13587 жыл бұрын
It's definitely EF school, because there are much more people! And it's soooo laid back and easy going :-) I loved it! And sorry for the late answer, unfortunately I didn't receive a notification for your comment.

what a beautiful video😍 are those activities very expensive? how much did you pay on average for the activities? the price worries me 😅
@kimcorpataux13586 жыл бұрын
Laureta hey there! :) thanks a lot ❤ uff that's hard to say.. I just advice you not to book trips with EF onto other islands :) go by yourself... with friends :) some activities with EF are nice and as expensive as a trip you plan by yourself :) but you need to compare them as soon as you are planning the trips when you're there :) and unfortunately, Hawaii is an expensive place.. that's how it is.. but if you're there for a long time, just plan your trips wisely so that you don't spend all your money on the first days or weeks :-) then you'll be save and you'll have a lot uf fun! Enjoy ;)

Hey, What is the best between the campus accomodation and the homestay accomodation ? thank
@kimcorpataux13583 жыл бұрын
It depends what your expectations are: If you want to be as free as possible, don't live with a family, because mostly you are not within short distance to Honolulu and there are only few busses that drive to the rural parts of Oahu. Then I recommend living in the EF Hub (Campus in Honolulu). For sure in a family you will get to know the culture far better than in the EF Hub and maybe you even learn English much better, because you have to talk with them instead with your colleagues only (often in your own language). But If you are in the residence, you are closer to School and you can do whatever you want to - you don't have any limitations ;) hope that answers your question a little.

@@Karoprincess1995 Ja ich kann es empfehlen ;) was ich alles so gemacht habe, siehst du oben im Video. Das würde Wochen dauern, dir das alles zu erzählen.
