I noticed something quite similar. When I got my XT600, it felt like the weirdest bike to ride ever. I don't know what made it feel like this, probably it's weight and height, as I was quite experience with dirt bikes and 50cc. The fact it felt weird made me be slow. The day I hid my speedometer with a sticker made me not worry anymore, and I actually got better/faster with time riding like this, because I would not think "this is a 80km/h turn" but just do as I feel.

I used a BMW tool kit on my Triumph to take off the front wheel. I was at home and none of my tools would work for that weird nut axle thing. I bought at dedicated multi nut adapter that will fit a socket. So now my tools are up for the job. I bought a fork oil fill thing too. I only planned one fork rebuild but I can use it in many other oil draining ways. Glad I bought it. Just don't know where I put it?

I have a 2012 r1. Bought it brand new about six, 6.5 years ago. I always ride in A except sometimes in the rain. You just need a decent tune. And don’t be scared. Standard mode garbage in my opinion. B-mode actually deactivate a cylinder For better fuel economy.

"A Mode"? Doesn't exist on my Yamaha! Only "T" & "S". "S" seems to do what "A Mode" does on your bike. You got a Tookit with your Yamaha! *_Don't tell anyone._* I got an Allen key and a small screwdriver - that's it. Honda provided a decent one on my commuter bike does most servicing (not wheel removal though).
