This is why I pay someone to tint all my vehicles. Its a skill and an art. Well worth the price that they charge and its done right!

Why don’t you learn and practice your self until you become skilled and then you can use that skill for other cars or your own an save money. It’s what I did by watching tint studio videos and I do my own car now.

working the air and water out from the middle seems to be one of the most important parts of getting a nice clean install. I recall, one time last year, you said on one of your live streams that working the air out to the sides when doing a glass with the defroster lines is best in getting all the air pockets out. Also, for me and my big hands, I prefer the "Stroke Doctor". I used it on my windshield. It was just easier to do because of my size. Great how to, Matt. Thanks for showing and explaining the process. Always thankful for having learned to tint windows from you. You make it very mechanical for the most part. Repetition is what did it for me. It took me at least 3 times to get the windshield shrinking process down. I think one of the things I noticed that helped me was when I used the dryer sheet, I went over the windshield with 2 dryer sheets. I found it very helpful. Thanks again, Matt!

Do any installers ever protect the interior from water? Every video I've seen they are splishing and splashing and pouring water all over the place and running it from the squeegee into spots that will run down into pockets that will remain wet and stink after a while, have you guys seen an installer that covers anything up.

Question: have you ever seen defroster lines in the back that can cause the foil not to stick ? I have lines of air there and they claim the defroster lines are too thick (2008 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X and nano ceramic tint). Previous (some "3M" tint) was sticking just fine.
@adamdavis8543
@adamdavis8543 Жыл бұрын
Hey there, I am a Tint installer for a dealership as of 4 years, The answer to your question is, No there are not any that do not stick. The issue lies with the fact the defroster lines get very hot compared to a cool/cold glass and being that Tint film prevents and traps heat between it and the glass it creates condensation that quickly dries, over time the moisture causes those areas of the tint adhesive to dry out and become unadhered in those areas first.

You make great videos! Im an amateur tinter. I've done about 15 vehicles, but all with Black magic & Gila films. I just did my first windows with a little higher quality carbon tint from Tint depot... my biggest problem is im use to those low quality films that have far less adhesion. Im having trouble finding the right slip solution ratio for the more aggresive adhesive on the tint depot film. It tacks up too quick, not giving me enough time to slide the film around on the glass. I use j&j baby shampoo & was told to add a few drops of dawn. Ive even over used shampoo & dawn but still seems to tacks too fast. Any suggestions? Im in south texas where an 80 degree day is on the "Cold" side.😂

I've been a tinter/ppf installer for going on 10 years. All of the other guys I work with use baby Shampoo. I use Suave Shampoo & it works like a charm. I finally got one of my guys to try it & now I've converted him. But If you're gonna use baby Shampoo, use about 4-6 drops. No dawn
