I understand the combo, but what do you do if Fadra is not on the field and you attack a, say, 2400ATK monster, wouldn't Chundra get destroyed and the affect not go through? I'm confused. In other words, doesn't Fadra have to be on the field to keep your monsters from getting squished?

Their effects trigger upon attack declaration. Meaning that Chandra would pull Fadra out of the deck before damage calc and would become unable to die by battle damage.

Isn't the activation of sangen kaimen illegal? I know chundra activates at the start of the damage step, but I thought you couldn't activate Quick-Play spells in the damage step unless they are stat boosters and other effects that activate in the damage step

You can activate QP spells in the battle phase. If it's your turn, you can activate from hand whenever you want. If it's your opponent's turn, you have to set your QP spells on your turn first. Then activate it during your opponent's turn. It's better if you activate Kaimen in their battle phase. But remember it needs to be set first. If I have the right resources and the time is right, I like to use super poly in my battle phase to mess with my opponent's field and to do some more damage. This is what makes Tenpai so dangerous. Kaimen is QP and the synchro QE for the dragons are not once per turn. And imperm can really do anything if you have, Chundra and either Paidra or Fadra on the field. Just QE go into a synchro. But no, that Kaimen play isn't illegal. And don't let anyone tell you differently

Pretty good because you can hand trap them into obvion and board break them easy.

Only caveat is that you need to know WHAT to hand trap… labrynth is definitely one of this deck’s weaknesses unless you know what to stop. That deck pulls off some crazy combos, that’s the only deck I lost to at locals last weekend

This deck plays several generic removal - raigeki, lightning storm - and forbidden droplet to negate and half the attack of opponent’s monster. In any case, Chundra’s effect triggers at the start of damage step, so you can special summon Fadra and protect your dragons with his passive ability

You have to either stop their combo with handtraps or lightning storm them

@@PaperYGO you can normal chundra, go battle phase, before damage step summon paidra in DEF, search quick spell, synchro summon for black rose in DEF, nuke the board, activate QP and go on from there.. in theory.

It actually says "If this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can add to your hand or Set 1 "Sangen" Spell/Trap from your Deck. You can only use this effect of "Tenpai Dragon Paidra" once per turn. You take no battle damage from battles involving your FIRE Dragon monsters. Once per turn, during the Battle Phase, you can (Quick Effect): Immediately after this effect resolves, Synchro Summon using this card you control." So you can add or set it, if you could only set it they couldn't OTK because you wouldn't be able to activate it because it's a Quick-Play spell.
