Landorus maybe the pokemon that change the entire meta than any single pokemon. It made no one use Groudon and Excadrill and less Metagross and Melmetal, which is so common before it came and even hard counter Zacian, which was so safe to run.

not sure if anyone else suggested this, but melmetal is very f2p friendly- you can get it 50 maxed arguably easier than even a dragonite or metagross, meltan boxes are guaranteed spawns and the xl candy rate is very high so genuinely anyone could max one in only around 2-4 boxes if using a metal mega

I have a mix of legendary and non legendary lvl 50 mons for ML but I am unsure what team to make of them. I got: Kyogre, Rayquaza, Lugia, Dragonite, Tyranitar, Metagross, Mamoswine (shadow and normal), shadow Garchomp, Machamp, Conkeldurr, Haxorus, ... What would be best to play? Thanks!

Dragonite/Excadrill/Metagross has typically gotten me 3/5 in sets.. don't have any legendaries powered up

team 1- it's not just landorus thats the issue. Zacian, Xerneas, and Zygarde complete are basically an instant L as well

I tried this team at ~2300 elo (15/15/14 D9, 15/14/15 exca with buddy boost and 15/15/13 shadow metagross) u cant climb with this team. Im Expert every season and i had so many negative sets with this team that i gave up

I've tried the 1st team and it's not working for the past 2 seasons and it's only Goten worse xD I've been running Shadow Rhyperior instead of metagross and while it's fun surprising people the result is the same, managed to climb up to mid 2200s but then crashed down and am in low 2100s now

I used the 1st team 3 seasons ago and managed a 24 win streak. Had excadrill in the lead tho and was in ace at the time. Shame it doesn't work so well now

2100-2500 Elo is a wild ride, you'll encounter anything and everything imaginable, would recommend waiting till Master Premier to try climbing with the F2P stuff

Legendaries = the 'old' avatars. Non-legendaries = the 'new' avatars. LOL. Great showcase. this season i challenged myself to get 30 wins in ML for the level 43 challenge (without fake battling friends). I started ML at rank 1 using dragonite, metagross and gyarados. I actually found Gyra very flexable given the constant damage from DB and aquatail plus crunch for good neutral/coverage. I wanted to use Florges but don't have the XLs. RIP i didn't get a hisu avelug :( Yeah, I was good until I start running into more legendries at level 6+. Excadrill is annoying/ corebreaker. Like, even doing palkia/dialga raid day (for one day, about 20 raids each) i got about 130-140 XLs, so its insane to expect regular players to 'make' ML legendaries where you do like 1 -3 raids a day.

Are you doing only remote raids? 20 in person raids should get you about 130-140 XL's if you have a mega active.

No remotes. You're correct about the number, on second review I got about 120-130 xls each on one day.

Thank you for this Jonkus, there's plenty of people like me that don't have the resources to waste on remote raids and are still increasing their storage space. So viable teams for people that are just starting and are practically solo players for whatever reasons is awesome. There's many "noobs" that can access these Pokemon and would humiliate the players on here boasting about how they reach legend every season when they've been playing and exploiting the game for years🙇🏽‍♂️🙇🏽‍♂️

The only legendaries I'm able to max out are origin dialga: hundo without roar of time Origin palkia: not even a decent one after 40 raids Kyogre: 96 as the best one with a ton of lucky trades and raids done 😢😢😢

Legendaries should be available to f2p players especially for players who don't have people to raid in their area. Not asking a free giveaway, but almost no encounter in GBL reward is not ok at all. No free 1 remote raid pass/ week, no research breakthroughs legendary. Master League is absolutely PAY TO WIN! Edit: The main issue of ML(also a bit in UL), is XL candy. Obtaining that shouldn't be this much difficult

They had free legendaries before so they aren't, but candy XL is. There is no reliable way to make candy XL happen at all in a reasonable amount of time and a hundo dialga is still useless if you do not have 296 Dialga candy xl as well.

Okay, but having a different league to play is not a reasonable excuse for the incredibly bad XL system. I have to spend time and a lot of money to max out legendaries, some people do not have that luxury and are left behind. I'm not saying give out XL candy, like candy, but it shouldn't be this difficult either.

Is it *possible* to succeed with a non-Legendary team? Sure. It's a lot harder to win consistently, though, and obviously, a lot more limiting. I will forever condemn the decision to eliminate Master League Classic and turn open ML into a "whale" league.

Free to play is still possible... since XL has been out for a couple of years many people have several legendaries without spending at all. It's even easier now with the in person extra XL from raids (if you have someone to raid with of course!) Still makes sense to show non legendary teams... but we're beyond the point of saying using legendaries is pay to win. At least until level 60 comes...
