The Aurora police department says it’s “ashamed” of photos showing three officers mocking the death of Elijah McClain. Two officers in the photos were fired, the third resigned and a fourth officer was fired after responding “haha” to the pictures in a group text.

In many states the DA or the Grand Jury, have the first go at investigating the officers. If the DA declines, IAD takes it over and are supposed to report any criminal findings for prosecution. 🐣👍

It's also messed up that cops and 911 responders in general always seem to take what the caller says as fact at face value without the need for any sort of evidence. So, if there's someone I don't like for whatever reason, I can just call the cops on them saying they look suspicious in order to have them harassed (and possibly worse like what happened to poor Elijah). It's ridiculous beyond words.

This ‘angelic child’ who refused to eat meat because of his love for animals, who every lunch break went to his local SPCA to play classical music on his violin for the animals to enjoy, was left crying “Please, I’m a good person. I don’t eat meat, I wouldn’t hurt a fly”, while his face was shoved in his vomit as death approached. His crime: He was just returning from a store having bought ice tea.
