Thank you very much for the kind words. I've not been able to make any videos for a couple of years as life has been extremely busy, but I'm hoping to get back to them soon.

In Holland (Dutch National Railways) we had hundreds of these shunters. In the series 500 / 600. Some of them are still in use at private railway companies and museum railways. Still going strong!

Hi not sure if you know but when using activator you are supposed to spray it on the opposite contact surface and it's easier than holding two things at once I use the same method but spray the led and it sets on contact regards sean.

Hi Sean. Many thanks indeed for the comment. Yes, you're absolutely right and I should probably have explained things more clearly in the video. If it want an instant stick, I do it how you've described. I've had a few issues with that though with this tiny components, because sometimes it goes off too fast and things get glued out of alignment. I have found if you give a wee skoosh of activator like I've done, it can help the glue go off more quickly than it otherwise would, but still gives enough time for a bit of fine adjustment. I should have explained that though. 🙂

Nice video! Where did you get that blue plate your working on? seams very handy to me!

Hi Joe. Many thanks. It's just an anti-static mat from ebay. They're not very expensive. They're heat and static proof, but not knife proof. So, they're great for servicing, electronics, decoder fitting, soldering etc., but if I'm cutting, I remove it and use the big cutting mat below. They also have a certain amount of grip, which helps stop small screws etc rolling away ☺️

A good video. Could you tell me please where you got the spare handrails from? Thanks
@StrathpefferJunction5 жыл бұрын
Many thanks indeed. Yes, I contacted bachmann spared and they had them in stock. You can occasionally find them on ebay, but often more than bachmann sell them for.

Hi, just catching up with your excellent projects. Can I ask where you got your blue work board from? I like the compartments around the edge
@StrathpefferJunction6 жыл бұрын
Hi Mark. Sure, I got that one from eBay. If you search for blue anti-static mat, you'll find loads. It's not a cutting board, and cuts very easily, but it's anti-static, which is great for working with decoders, and also fairly heat proof, so useful when soldering. I always use it when I'm doing decoder work. I often have a cutting mat underneath, so if I need to cut anything, I just move the blue one to the side temporarily.
