Ride with me as I discuss the 3 reasons I chose a Harley Davidson Street Glide over any other motorcycle that was available for sale. I also cover what's gone wrong with the bike since I've owned it.
There was an overriding factor that some would call crazy and others would understand that led me to chose the Street Glide over any other available motorcycle.

When I decided to stop being such a hooligan and step up from my Sportster to something bigger, more comfortable, and more powerful I took a long hard look at the touring lineup. Test rode the big three: Street Glide, Road Glide, and Road King. The Street Glide was an immediate no for me. I'm 5'9" and the fairing/dash/console made me feel claustrophobic (yes, on a motorcycle) - seemed like it was right in my face. The Road Glide was much better, seemed to be lower and further away. I really liked the Road King, classic looks, and I know it's a cliche but it felt like an extension of me, like we were one. But... I also took a hard, rational look at what riding I was doing, what riding I would like to do, and what mix of riding I was actually likely to end up doing for the next few years. I ended up on the Road King's baby brother - the Softail Heritage Classic. Everything I liked about the Road King, in a slightly smaller package. That works better for around town and rural riding - which is probably 90% of my riding. A little more wind on the highway than the Road Glide, but a good trade off.

Good call, you gotta be honest with yourself about what kind of riding you do 90% of the time, I like to ride quiet country and mountain roads and rarely ride the interstate, so my 2014 Fat Bob is perfect

Road king is rubber mounted and way smoother than a Softail, I own both and riding back to back it’s night and day, if you are happy that’s all that matters

I prefer my old Electra-glide over the Street-glide. The old E-glide is about 2 inch taller, so you can go faster into the corners without floorboards touching the asphalt. And it's still a 96CI, and I have no need for more horsepower or torque. It even has no radio or any screen, so I still use the fairing bracket for a old Garmin 660 GPS. The less crap you have on your bike, the better it is.

The seat bolt! I just ended up putting a 3/8th bolt through the damn hole and double nut

I really love my Harley Iron 883 2017 last of the Evolution engine, I also have 2 other bikes non Harley for other things never been brand fan it’s not what you have but what you do with it. I have plenty of mates who have Harley who never ride them don’t want to put on km and have them wrap up as an investment. Ride what you like wear what you like just ride motorcycles, we are a rare breed now days

First of all you need a Gremlin bell for your bike. I swear by them lol. Second of all use blue loctite on your seat bolt. You won’t ever lose it again. Harley’s shake a lot and that’s what’s making your seat bolt back out.

I also have great experience with windscreen and built in GPS but on my Vespa 300GTS 😋😋. Screen really makes big difference in cold and rain. The GPS was great to but I felt like I always took me through scenic routes instead of straight, faster ways. GPS screen always showed 20 degrees and sunny weather😂😂.

An accurate torque measurement should be made in whichever gear is a 1:1 ratio.

Clean the underside of your guard and put a cut a circle of 70 lb double sided tape on the retaining nut. It has a thin squashable film between the two adhesive sides and is about the best there is for this type of thing. It will never let go.

The clip should be pinched between the seat strap and the fender when the screw #3075 is tight. If you have an aftermarket seat clamp that is too thin ie less than around 3.5mm it's not clamping the clip. The seat should not move at the back. The solo nut will rattle and buzz so I leave it off.

I had problems with the screen, stereo, and gps cutting in and out on my 21. The problem occurred whenever moisture collected inside the usb port where you connect your phone to the display

After owning five previous fairing mounted Harley’s, I decided to opt for a Road King. That is the most enjoyable, fun to ride Harley I ever had. I love the clear view of the road and the windshield provides plenty of protection. I comfortably rode my motorcycle from Florida to Sturgis South Dakota last year and loved every minute of it. I guess, in summary, I had faring mounted bikes, been there, done that and riding on! Just saying.
