I think if it is legal, then you are forced to use it to compete. I personally would prefer not to use it. But since it is allowed, I am trying to incorporate it into my game

I’m mostly neutral on this, but have some concerns for the long run. I can see it having a negative affect on mature fish, that traditionally would not have been caught, brought up from deep, possibly not fizzed correctly, hauled around in a warm “live well” and dumped after the show. I don’t see how this can’t have a negative impact after multiple times a season on the same fishery. I hope I’m wrong. Again, just IMHO from a regular guy that fished out of a plastic boat.

I disagree that FFS should be banned. Everyone has had the choice to learn it. At the least, maybe limits should be placed for the amount of time used. Electronic equipment is the future.

All Valid points. I hear a lot of talk for and against this technology. I think we should have those conversations, but for it to be a healthy conversation, we have to drop our preconceived notions and be willing to look at all the valid points on both sides. Well done.

Its all relative. Same thoughts when FF came out years and years ago. Some could afford the tech and some couldn't. Some said it was like cheating. Etc.
@BehindTheReelFishing Жыл бұрын
At this point in the game opinions don't matter. Either you learn how to use it or get left behind. There's a few guys out there that can compete without out. I suppose the more people lean on it the more of an anywhere a bank beater could gain! 🤔

@BehindTheReelFishing I'm still learning to use and read a basic ff, I'm wayyy behind. I'm 30 and have bass fished for forever without any tech, I'd love to join tournaments and be part of the fishing community but up until recently I just couldn't afford to keep up with Joneses. It's an expensive hobby or career as-is just getting a reliable boat. But to be fair; I'd much rather be in my position where I don't know the tech but know the fish...rather than someone who has all the tech but doesn't know the fish or the skill. I agree with your assessment though, it's the same way with any sport. You can go golfing with a $100 set of clubs...You're just not going to keep up if you go out there to play professionally or in tournaments (generally speaking). It shouldn't be banned to use, but it also shouldn't be mandatory to join. Win-win.
@LanceBurris Жыл бұрын
I don’t believe it should be banned but the producers need to find a better way to make it entertaining. I personally don’t enjoy watching it right now. The professional using it in a tournament isn’t worried about teaching the viewer as they compete so I’d rather watch it on KZbin if I want to learn how to use it. MLF does about the best job keeping it entertaining by switching around to multiple different boats and views of the surroundings keeping it visually appealing. There’s not much you can do on the big bodies offshore but I remember before ffs the pro would talk about what he’s fishing or what he’s doing next, painting a picture you could relate to.
@thelittleguy-ih8nv8 ай бұрын
I agree they should ban it. And I'd also include mega 360. Shouldn't be able to be dependent on electronics.

Probably a little late to ban either of these technologies, but might have to be careful what they allow moving forward.

The states will decide conservation departments will be the first to ban it if it is proving to damage bass fishing!

The states have decided this has not negatively effected fish populations...maybe future studies will come up with different conclusions.

I’m indifferent. I think you’re spot on with your arguments. The people wanting this banned, Randy blaukat, we’re the same guys back in the 90s and 2000s when bass fishing was transitioning from flashers to black and white fish finders who complained about that. The guys who complain with any advancement. This far removed from the release of ffs and the lower cost gives guys more options.

Catching fish is easier with FFS than without it.. for sure! But I think we also need to take into account how much more pressured these fish are because EVERYONE has it. Might be interesting to see them fish without it but that seems like a slippery slope.

I personally think for the Crappie fishing side of it when it comes to the professionals not your local derby guys. It has grown the sport. There is a lot of money in Crappie boats now days which brings in more sponsorship opportunities for your professionals. The guys traveling all over the country competing in a points race can compete with the local guy that just enters his home lake tournament trying to cash a pro check.

@@BehindTheReelFishing zero...I prefer using skills I've developed & techniques I've learned over the years to actually enjoy the challenge of bass fishing...You can spin it all u want, Livescope is exactly like playing a video game...every tournament is won the same way...idle around, find fish, drop your bait in the water to the exact depth of the fish thx to seeing it on the screen, couple twitches in their face...set the hook...Bassmaster Classic really screwed up by showing the winners Livescope on live tv...he did exactly like I just stated & it was seen by alot of anglers...Today, anyone can win any tournament, any lake by just using Livescope, which proves there is no special skills involved....the winner, is who idles over the most/quality fish...Livescope is the true "angler"

It's the professional that is educating the fish. Common everyday angler doesn't use it. Skill is debatable, learning techniques don't require FFS. Again watching the fish on FFS is going to tell you what the fish want you just have to watch. It's not entertaining watching someone stare at a screen the entire time! Shills for the use of it should be banned!

Kinda sad you gotta have ffs to compete in Wednesday nighters or kayak tournaments. That's where the price hurts and discourages anglers. Obviously it's not high level tournaments that people cant afford ffs 😂😂😂. If you're gonna use that bull shit argument atleast tell the truth instead of stating that it has become affordable. Do you see how that could exclude a certain demographic of people? 20 years ago if a guy was better than you he could beat you outta 14 ft jonboat with a 25. I gotta feelin those days are gone
